I'd recommend boys over flowers but the original in japanese is 10 times better. It is called hana yori dango. The manga was so successful in japan. And then the live actions in japan and taiwan were superb as well.

In Asia having scars is a big deal, historically you couldn't even be a king or queen if you had any scar on your body. Even now scars, burns, even tattoos are seen as bad things tainting your skin. Having so many burn scars all over your body is really shocking for people and they will look at it and maybe judge you without even knowing how you got them. If you remember when Moon was young working in factory, everyone assumed she had cigarette burns or her being problematic somehow. In mafia circles, yakuza and stuff they will scar people as a punishment as it is worse than dying sometimes.

Then, when she woke up freaking out after having that lucid dream of murdering Myeong-o unbeknowst to her, actually confessing to him what she did. The writing is so well written with that ending scene of him looking at her with that devious grin on his face. Sorry my dear, but your cover is now blown. But you weren't as clever and sneaky as you thought.

However, her and Yeo-jeong are so sweet and lovely together. Our boy needs his savage queen. He would do anything for her and truly cherishes her. With Mr. Ha, he's only physically atttacted to her and is a bit smitten with her allusiveness and trying to figure out like a puzzle. But Wow that elevator scene as well when our girl took off her coat to reveal her scars to everyone is so good. The suspense is crazy. Poor Mr. Ha is shocked and terrified. He didn't realize what kind of witch he was acttually married to.

2025-08-14 19:40:55 +0000 UTCEveryones loves Dong-eun and the Doctor (Yeo-jeong) and wants them to have their happy ending, but there are for sure some people who ship her with the Husband (Da-young) too—partly because it’d be the worst thing for Yeon-jin, and partly because of their chemistry. I think with a show like this, a lot of people gravitate more toward tension-filled dynamics than the more wholesome ones. Realistically, I don’t think Dong-eun and the Husband make sense as a couple, but I see the potential. It might also be because their characters and actors are closer in age, whereas there’s a noticeable age/maturity gap with her and the Doctor.

Jae-jun is desperate to keep Ye-sol all to himself like a prized possession. There's no love there. He's only doing it to spite Mr. Ha and have complete control on everything. He doesn't deserve sweet angel, Ye-sol. She's too pure and kind for his sleeziness. They deserve peace anf freedom away from that slimy husband/father's clutches. But it's awful that she has to leave her mother behind for the time-being. And when Yeon-jin stepped on Hyeon-nam's hand, it made me so freaking mad. I'm glad Sun-a can stay with Moon's old teacher to be in a secure safe place until things are settled. But she'll be the most protected in the U.S. Also, Yeon-jin, you can't outsmart my girl, Moon. She's more clever than you think. You better watch out.
