I’m surprised u thought it was better in one pace Jack, the climax of his fight I thought looked so awkwardly cut with the cockroaches and hammer and really didn’t hit for me here. Either way peak usopp moment but we’re finally getting close to main fight of the arc and I’m hype.

Even the greatest Usopp stans will tell you that he needs more moments like his duel with Luffy where he actually performs above your expectations. He's a core member of the straw hats though and however useless he might feel, take Usopp out of any arc and the straw hats lose.

He can't turn into darkness like how the other logia fruits turn into their elements but like darkness he absorbs and expels and can cancel out the devil fruit power of another user so they can't use it while he's touching them.

I don't think it's like that at all, like when Oda is writing that Perona scene I don't think he's going for sympathy, I think he just finds the idea funny and it matches Usopps character so he designs the interaction like that. He said he can't turn into darkness, like how Ace can turn into fire, so his body absorbs all the inflicted pain and it becomes amplified in the process. In exchange, he can pull the bodies of devil fruit users regardless of fruit type, and be able to nullify their powers and turn into regular humans, as long as he is touching them. He can also absorb pretty much anything the darkness touches and expel it out.

2025-07-18 01:03:07 +0000 UTCI am a huge Usopp fan and one of the greatest strength of his character is that unlike other characters he struggles all the time yet he is giving his best always trying even though he is scared shitless most of the time, man can’t control himself for being scared but he is trying his best to overcome it. Reminds me of myself who born with sickness that I can not control but I am still going to try my best to overcome it even though I am going to struggle really hard but just like Usopp never gives up whenever he is scared and struggling to face his challenges. But when push comes to shove he will always face his problems and he inspires me to do the same. Usopp taught me that bravery is not something that you do that looks brave but easy for you to do, bravery is doing something that is extremely hard for you to do but you still try despite of it.

While she's a navigator namis skill set isn't really that of a helmsman, they more so work together but normally both roles could be fulfilled by the captain anyways.
