I always forget how emotional the scene btw All Might and Izuku is at the end of Ep 4. You guys getting all teary eyed during their conversation is so me lmao. People tend to overlook how much All Might sacrifices himself to be the Symbol of Peace. He lost friends, comrades, chances to forge close relationships and even had to destroy bridges btw him and the people around him to remain on the path he chose and stick to his principles (no matter how insanely self-sacrificing those principles are). He's much more All Might than he is Toshinori Yagi - less his own person than he is a public figure to admire. Sure, he has his own unique, quirky personality, but his position as the number 1 hero and Symbol of Peace made it so that he struggled to get close to others for fear of dragging them into his life of bloodshed and fighting. So his relationship with Izuku probably helps him A LOT. It gives him purpose beyond being the greatest hero the world has ever seen, and now that he can't be that, he's not just wasting away after his retirement. I just think it's a very nice touch that he can share this kind of information with Izuku and receive total and utter support in return. Him wanting to live now when before he didn't care if he was running headfirst to the finish line of his life really shows how much Izuku has impacted him. It's why All Might chose HIM. Because Izuku was the one who moved All Might when he was on the verge of an emotional and mental slump. And he KEEPS doing that for All Might. Izuku makes All Might learn new things (i.e. adapting his fighting style against All For One to include more tricky moves when he only relied on brute force and power before), he revitalises his will to live as a person, not just as a hero, and most of all, he changes All Might's perspective on his role as a teacher and person. And that's what really makes their mentor-mentee relationship so good. They learn from each other, despite one being a teacher and the other the student/disciple.

All Might is still training Deku y'all, it's just off-screen. He's training Deku like he did for provisional license but it's not all interesting to the plot so the author left it out. Horikoshi prefers to imply stuff (the provisional license training, All Might's promise with Deku's mom) than fleshing it all out. This is like how the students still continue their normal classes off-screen amidst the big events

ugh peak is starting !! the type of arc that makes you need to turn on some calm music and take a stroll after lol. also this was probably the first season to actually come out when mha was at like- peak popularity. the show was gaining massive traction and blowing up in western pop culture and media around 2018 and 2019 and this season dropped end of 2019 into 2020! everyone was buzzing and waiting for this arc to be animated.

I love that scene where Deku confronts All Might because it’s the first time he shows something other than just pure adoration/worship towards AM. It adds something more to their dynamic. Not just a fanboy and hero, but a hero and his successor. Also, while I get WHY they’re planning to to wait, if it were me? I’m snatching Eri up and getting her away from Overhaul.

All Might is amazing man. He’s one of the most important characters in MHA and a huge part of what makes it great. That said, I’ve had some friends lose interest and actually drop the show right after he retires, which is a huge shame tbh. If he’s the only reason someone’s watching, they’re likely missing the heart of his character and what this story is really about. It’s not HIS journey as a hero that we’re following — and the show only gets better from here

To explain Nighteye's quirk. For an hour, after he touches and locks eyes with someone, he can see their future. It does not matter how far along it is, the quirk will only stay active for an hour. But, the farther ahead he looks, the less details he has. So when it comes to All Might he does not know exactly how he will die, he just knows that he dies in a fight against some villain, so he wants All Might to retire so he does not fight. He has no other information to try and prevent it.
