Without question Naruto was published in ShounenJump so yes the initial target audience was 14 and younger but people age, story lines get darker, yada yada. Naruto’s target audience grew with it years if you ask me. But anyway it bothers me when people say this because the Geks have watched other shows and movies that don’t fit the “shounen” demographic ie. a piece of media I wouldn’t show a 14yo or younger

Everything coming back around, the will of fire, how the Hokage's light shines through all and to this day still impacts Danzou in a good way, yin yang. A konoha who shines. Self sacrifice and how through Hiruzen's intrinsic love for the village and its people Danzo's twisted vision of how he should live his life was born, how his ego and realization that he could never reach Hiruzen he had to do it in another way. And in his final moments all he could do was try to make Hiruzen proud, a sorry excuse for self sacrifice muttering his last words: "What was I to you". KISHIMOTO COOOOK

He is the primordial god of creation and life, the father of the sun goddess Amaterasu, the moon deity Tsukuyomi and the storm god Susanoo. As you can probably tell from the names, Naruto's lore and mythology draws a lot of inspiration from a bunch of real life mythology and religions. The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya for example is a story originally written back in 1806, iirc it had like 43 parts and multiple authors working on it up until the 1860's. In one of the tales he uses toad magic and with the help of a woman called Tsunade and her slug magic, defeats a robber called Orochimaru, who is the son of a serpent. The nine tailed fox is also a well know magical beast in Asia and I think originates from Chinese mythology but I'm no expert. It's just all over media, Ninetales in Pokemon, Ahri in league of legends, etc etc. The same goes for the other tailed beasts, most famously probably the 4 tails is called Son Goku and is a reference to Sun Wukong from journey to the west, which you probably know from Dragon Ball, League of Legends, or the recent Black Myth Wukong game. The Rinnegan is related to Hinduism and Buddhism but that might be a bit too early to explain the details of. Almost everything in Naruto is a reference to some Taoist, Buddhist, Shintoist, Hinduist, Confucian or other Asian mythology/folklore. When I first watched Naruto I often saw Asian viewers/readers say that westerners can never appreciate Naruto the same way that they do. At first I thought it was just gatekeeping, but the more I've looked into all the symbolism and references in Naruto the more it makes sense. Before watching anime I wouldnt even have known the names of these various religions, but for them they are the stories, philosophies and belief systems that they grew up with and their entire culture and history is build upon.
