2025-05-09 03:55:51 +0000 UTCOh and MHA Vigilantes is great, it’s a prequel set about 5 years before EP1 of MHA but you should give it a watch if you have time, If the MHA world is like the Avengers level heroes the vigilantes characters are more the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man (before he powers up), Daredevil, punisher street level heroes you can go in blind but you might have more enjoyment getting further through MHA before starting due to some past cameos

Most of the side characters are pretty cool. I would give this season an 8 as well. I'm excited to start season 2!

I agree with Cannon. He needs therapy. I think if he chills out he could be a great hero. But, if he keeps going down this anger crash he might end up having some kind of a villian ARC. But I hope he has more of a character growth ARC. Excited to watch more. Hoping to finish season one tomorrow and catch up on season 2 by the weekend! Great reactions from all the geks!

These guys already have a preconceived notion on it, so I'd rather they watch it in sub and say good things about the show than watch it in dub and focus more on how much they hate how they sound instead of the actual story.

Also yeah Deku’s English va isn’t that great, and the character himself is super whiny in this first season. People tend to not like the mcs that cry and complain a lot, but at the same time, he has some epic moments and just throws himself in the fire with reckless abandon. Im glad you guys enjoyed this first season. The show is pretty consistent, from what I remember, having watched this years ago when it came out. I’m a few seasons behind at this point, so I guess I’ll be catching up alongside you guys. 😼😼

Season 2 especially I like better in Dub. One scene in particular hits way harder in a good way in the Dub. Bokugo’s VA is also one of the best.

2025-05-02 23:57:50 +0000 UTCI love the dub for this show. It’s actually pretty damn good. Chris’ All-Might, Patrick’s Endeavor, Clifford’s Bakugo, and Eric’s Shiguraki are all fantastic. Plus, you can never go wrong with a cast that has J. Michael Tatum. With that said, I personally would not switch. You’re too far in now that the voices become attached to the characters in the viewer’s mind. The dub may feel jarring for that reason and ruin the immersion.

And even on the villains side, nomu was captured and that's it, everyone else got away and even none of the goons died.. There are a lot of epic moments but I think they could do well with some consequences too

S4 part 2 and S5 part 1 is what made most people drop the anime and I can see why these arcs can be rough on a weekly basis. Other than that, there are not so great episodes here and there but the peaks are peak. There are characters I don't like but I'm expecting this re-watch help me see things that I might have missed before. I knew you guys will enjoy this show. My superpower or "quirk" in life (I hate myself for that) is probably my ability to give things the benefit of the doubt. I do not instantly form opinions or view things too black and white like. Anyways - my point is just that if you whatsoever enjoyed season 1 then youre going to love this show. There are few shows out there that get just so consistently better with every new season. By Season 6 - 7 this show is truly peak as all the character arcs and plot points begin to climax and converge.

Knowing how he is now makes imagining a character that's calm, cool, and collected having his quirk not sit right with me. This thought made me also just now realize the character's personalities seem to more or less correlate with their powers. Not sure if this an accurate take but will be my personal headcanon. From a more practical standpoint rather than a character design perspective, being glazed up your whole life and not being humbled during crucial developmental stages as a child can lead to unchecked ego and narcissistic qualities. Not that I would know if that's true. I'm no psychologist, but that just seems logical.

He was saying he was surprised Deku was so accurate with the time frame, but he said that the actual battle All Might was in where he got injured was not reported to the public so there's no way Deku could've known the actual person who injured him. MHA has so many epic moments mixed with emotional lines. It's so satisfying to see y'all love All Might so much. Cannon's All Might glazing is so on point lmao I also feel tears in my eyes whenever they show us an All Might fight scene with that insane animation and pencil sketch artwork. Season 1 is great, but it gets better honestly. I'm so excited for the next upload. And no, I don't think anyone's favourite character is Mineta (the tiny one with balls on his head). The only person who likes him is probably Horikoshi, the creator himself, unfortunately. It's widely held that Mineta is an entirely inappropriate and unnecessary character, especially when the things he says are completely out of pocket or downright gross sometimes. I'd honestly ask y'all to ignore the weirdness. Just treat him like an NPC gag character HAHAHAHA I promise it'll make the viewing experience much less frustrating when he shows up Here's my cat emoji!!: 😺

2025-05-02 16:02:21 +0000 UTCBtw I just realised since you guys binged season 1 and might speed through season 2 as well, here's the watch list order for MHA(including the movies, which are more or less semi-canon as they're referenced in the source material as well): Season 1 -> Season 2 Movie 1: Two Heroes Season 3 -> Season 4 -> Season 5 (Ep 1 to 16) Movie 3: World Heroes' Mission Season 5 (Ep 17 to 25) Movie 2: Heroes Rising Season 6 -> Season 7 -> Season 8 (coming soon) I know this looks super weird, but someone on reddit explained that it's because Studio Bones messed up the order of the arcs in the second half of season 5 due to Covid restrictions (or whatever reason). So canonically, movie 3 actually happens sometime in the middle of season 5, while movie 2 actually happens after season 5's ending, even though the studio released the two movies in the opposite order. Alternatively, y'all can watch movie 2 after season 5 ep 12, and movie 3 after season 5 ends (this is what most reactors do if I'm not wrong, cause there are spoilers in movie 2 that aren't revealed until the middle of season 5). One of my favorite characters. Imo all in all, MHA is enjoyable but later on the writing feels stagnant and dragged out. The first 4 seasons are really great, especially the first 2, in terms of pacing. The last few eps of season 4 is still my fav stretch in the entire series. The later seasons are honestly a drag to get through.

Katsuki is very, very, VERY prideful, as we've seen. There's no denying that he's an asshole to Izuku and just a jerk overall at this point in the story. But he's shown that he's more than just angry all the time. He can acknowledge when he's lost, he understands when someone points out he's done something wrong during training. And he's not afraid to say that he thought he might lose to another gifted student he's only just met in school. He's not dumb, far from it, actually. He's very intelligent. It's one of the things he prides himself on. But his anger issues ARE getting in the way of his development, so episode 8 really is where he starts to become more than just Izuku's bully...although his asshole tendencies probably won't change just like that lol. You guys have so much faith in Katsuki's character having development (it makes me so happy hahaha!)

Heck, I didn't like him at all when he was behaving this way. But I'm kind of pleasantly surprised by your theories about why he acts the way he does with Izuku ngl. Carter saying there has to be a reason why Katsuki is so angry and crashing out all the time really doesn't happen that often with other reactors. I've seen maybe two others so far that I've watched that speculate about it, and it's pretty refreshing to see your takes on him as a character haha! Season 2 is when the story starts to pick up, while Season 3 is really damn good. Has quite a few impactful moments. Season 4 is solid, one of the arcs in this season is really good and one of the fights is insane but unfortunately underrated. As for season 5, things do slow down in the first half but it does have very important elements in the storyline shown in this point. The later half of the season starts to pick things up again and got some very interesting/juicy content. Season 6 is a roller coaster, has some of the strongest writing in the whole series. It starts off strong and continues to stay strong the whole season, some of the best action sequences are in this season. Lastly season 7 is on the same level as season 6, can’t decide which one is better but these two are definitely the top 2 seasons in the anime so far

If you break your hand from punching something, it's because your hand absorbed a lot of shock from the impact. Midoriya just got lucky that he punched someone who would stop him from breaking his own arm.
