In this case, The last Japanese character in the name "Izuku" can be read as "Deku". Kacchan uses "Deku" in reference to the word "dekunobou", which means "good for nothing" or "useless person". So Izuku grows up hearing that all of his life. But then Ochaco Uraraka comes along and tells him it sounds like "dekiru", a Japanese word that means "I can do it". That's the exact opposite of a useless person. She flipped his entire worldview on his nickname with one simple sentence. Also, as a side note, Izuku's nickname for Katsuki, "Kacchan", is a thing that people who are close in some way sometimes do. It's a sort of nickname. People can't regrow organs (like All Might's stomach) or heal scars on their own, so Recovery Girl can't heal them, either.

If I could point out the thing I love the most about this show I'd say it's how consistent the cast is like literally nearly every single character is written well or is at least a pleasure to see on screen. 2nd favourite thing would probably be the villains, some absolute fire villains in this series. He's a versatile voice actor who has done roles ranging from Shoujo anime(romance aimed at the young female population) to battle shounen like MHA, and his iconic characters include Usui Takumi from Kaichou wa Maid-sama(shoujo), Bakugo Katsuki from MHA, Nishinoya Yuu from Haikyuu(my boy!!!<3) and Shinazugawa Genya from Demon Slayer! He is amazing at using his voice, and he's actually gone so overboard with the voice acting before that he had to be admitted to the hospital for treatment because his vocal cords were damaged in the process. If I'm not wrong, the anime that caused that was actually MHA! He really puts his all into voicing Katsuki, who he says he takes special care to embody! He's honestly a legend in that regard, because his dedication knows no bounds. I'm glad y'all noticed his efforts:)

Izuku is one of the kindest, sweetest and most wholesome MCs in shounen anime. He literally always tries his best and he works SO hard to turn his dream into reality. There are many MANY haters who say that they hate him cause he cries too much, but as an emotional person myself, I've never faulted him for his crybaby tendencies. He's literally a 15 year old going on 16, it's his first year in high school, he received his quirk from his all time favourite hero, and he gets a chance to be the hero he always wanted to be??? Plus he's a nice, all around precious teenager who just wants to do his best in everything?? How can anyone hate him, ugh. I just don't get people some times. Anyway, I love that y'all are enjoying the series so far. There may be times when you feel frustrated, disappointed or sad, but ultimately, the entire experience is very unique and intriguing.

I won't refute that, but whenever Izuku goes on a tangent it's usually because he's really concentrated on a particular topic that he has to work out no matter what. In some ways, Katsuki is right when he says Izuku is a nerd (he's a massive hero fanboy and has filled up at least 13 notebooks full of people's quirk analysis). He mutters a lot, and it's kind of a running gag in the series, at least in the first few seasons "Why can't she kiss All Might?" - HELP ME that shit took me OUT. I'm sure they thought of it before in the series, but if they're not using such an obvious fix then it just goes to show that there are limits to what someone's quirk can achieve HAHAHA "Where's his dad? And episode 2's ending was the start of it all. That scene is referenced SO MANY times throughout the series. It's a very pivotal moment in Izuku's life:)

Also, I saw this somewhere but it's been pointed out that Katsuki isn't the only weird one in the cast of characters so far because that scene of him telling Izuku(Deku) to take a swan dive off the roof is immediately followed after by Izuku thinking "You'll get in trouble for telling me that! That is MHA's MOST iconic ost and background track, and it's insane y'all know it enough to hum it my god. That was bizarre, but in a good way, because You Say Run is amazing. Third, this anime has a lot of all star voice actors because of its HUGE cast. It's honestly one of the reasons I love this series. "It's so comic book-ky too" - It's a theme that runs throughout the series HAHA! The creator of the manga, Horikoshi, is a big fan of traditional western comics. The names of All Might's moves, and just his vibe and personality in general are also very American because of that iirc! "He's such a crash out" - you just summed up a lot of Katsuki's personality with that one line and that is hilarious

In Japan during the spring, cherry blossoms bloom and go wild for 2 weeks before losing all of their petals until next year. That’s also when school years end and begin, hence why the cherry blossoms are going off when deku is graduating and then starting at UA.

The show does have a slump in szn 5 (not even that low of a low in hindsight) but picks right back up from szn 6 onward. So Izuku's name in kanji is 出(Izu) 久(ku) but the 出 can be also read as "De", so his name could potentially be read as Deku. However, the "Deku" that Bakugo calls him is 木偶 (lit wooden doll) which carries negative connotations, some people said it comes from the word "Dekunobo" which can be translated as good for nothing, but I'm not sure if that is accurate. Then, Uraraka tells him that it sounds like the world for "you can do it", she is referring to "Dekiru" (出来) I know only very basic Japanese so anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but that whole thing with "Deku" always confused me, especially because the subtitles never explained anything lol

Steins;Gate would've been a nice breath of fresh air as far as what's reacted to and I think has a significantly higher chance of being one of their favorites. On top of that, it would've been a quick binge and MHA could've been reacted to right after.
