So One Pace dropped the final Skypiea episode finally, and it's impressive what they managed to do! But the important part is, they included more than one scene from later on in (I think) LRLL. I recommend the GEKs to watch the one pace Skypiea 25 to get some info that will be very important for the W7 saga (from 12:40 in is where it starts). It will have more cohesion too, than to watch a bunch of different snippets. There is one page from the manga that's not included still, and that's the stuff rom episde 207 IIRC. Anyone who knows more, please add to this.

My thing with this arc is that there’s not exactly plot development, but there’s still great character moments. It’s a chill arc though, and you’ll miss these chill arcs when one piece really picks up. Also G8 was my favorite filler

I think the choice of having voice actors for animals is to convey a wider range of emotions, because usually named animals in anime are portrayed to be just as personable as humans are. Hard to do that with just stock animals noises or trying to record the right audio with trained animals.

In other versions of Romance Dawn (Potential pilots/drafts) One version, Luffy's character was cool, calm and collected and he never said anything stupid, Luffy would destroy ships and take their pirate flag as trophies which he displays on the mast of his tiny boat. (I guess Oda wanted to keep that idea so he put it in this arc)  Nami's name was Silk, and she rarely lost her cool. However, this time she was the abandoned child of a pirate. Luffy refers to himself as a “Peace Main” (pirates who fight Morganias and go on adventures.) And wanted to recruit more Peace Main members but struggled since most are “Morganias” (pirates who pillage and loot) One Piece's potential arc order was  1. Romance Dawn.  2. Nami's Arc 3. Buggy's Arc (Zoro, one of Buggy's henchmen, leaves to join Luffy's crew). The order of arcs changed after realising it would be a better build up for Nami's story.

Wow, that island really looks like Long Ring Long Land! Well, Oda has been to Hawaii (I think he said it was on his honeymoon?) so it’s not impossible that he saw an island like this. Maybe even this specific island. I guess now we see what happens to a ship without a proper leader… and when you lose crew members. It’s a silly and fun arc, but the threat is serious, when you think about it. In Japanese, stilts are calle take-uma, which literally translated would be bamboo-horse. And breaking a bamboo to find a spirit is from the folktale princess Kaguya! The reason for the name of the island is a pun: while the translation does a good replacement, what he’s really saying is nearly the opposite, that they’re long because they’re having such calm and carefree lives. Which in Japanese is ”nobi-nobi”. The expression uses the kanji for ”nobiru”, which means ”to stretch”. So yeah. And Luffy’s reaction is deadpan disbelief at him actually using a silly pun to explain the nature. You know, I really love Usopp’s realism compared to Luffy’s reactions to Tonjit, it just cracks me up. In the manga Shelly is shot with a bullet, the anime tends to tone things down. Yeah, the romanization of the currency have four possible, equally correct, options: beli/belly/berry/beri (actually more if you switch up the y and i). This is becaue the L and R is the same in Japanese. Official English translations seems to have gone with berry, the first translations I saw (like, 20 years ago) used beli, and I’ve seen more variations in other languages. (Sidenote, but the romanization of katakana is not always easy to get right, sometimes there isn’t even one ”right” to get. There is at least one major instance the official translation and English fan translations I’ve seen gets wrong.) Sorry for the super long comment, lol. You’d think there wasn’t this much to say about LRLL, and yet.

This is the worst rated arc on pretty much every popular vote (still think it's better than syrup village), doesn't mean it sucks it just feels pretty pointless for the plot. It does have a purpose though but that will only make sense later on. Btw in the manga Shelly the horse actually got shot, but the anime censored that for some reason.

How did you have the TV broadcasts in your country? In Japan, we used to have this so called "analog" broadcast and it was in 4x3. And the around 2010, the whole country changed the system to the "High Def Digital" broadcasts in 16x9.
