I think it definitely has to do with their motives or lack of fear when getting bit by the zombies that influence their turns. But at the same time the teacher had simply said it’s the virus evolving. maybe the virus links with emotions.

I had to look her name up, it's Go Min-si. I watched her on Love Alarm. And I love Do-hyun's acting. Not going to lie, it was weird at first seeing them as a romantic couple after seeing them as siblings in Sweet Home. But I quickly got used to once the story progressed. And dang girl!! Are we the same person or what? Haha And I don't like being sad but yet I always gravitate towards the sad tragic romance kdramas or sad movies in general. I suppose I like the emotionally gripping aspect of it. Yeah Saida, you and Cannon would be in the same boat for sure.

OH MY GOD I GET BORED WHEN THE COUPLE GETS TOGETHER TOO! i think i’ve left a few kdramas unfinished for this reason alone…. wait youth of may is one i haven’t watched, although i’ve been aware of it. unless i’m confused, it’s the one with do-hyun and the actress (who i am so sorry for forgetting the name of) who played his sister in sweet home, right? the biggest reason i haven’t watched it is because i kept hearing how sad it was and I REFUSE TO BE SAD WHEN IT COMES TO LOVE STORIES! i can’t deal with sad endings for couples man. specifically sad romances are a no no for me. i’m a coward, i know :). me and cannon would be in the same boat then!

Haha And yeah if the slow burn romance, isn't done right, it just fails for me and I lose interest quickly. Also sometimes when the 2 leads finally get together, I kind of get bored. I guess I like the thrill of the chase. Another romantic kdrama I love even though, it's tragically sad and depressing, it's Youth of May. I like that it's based on real-life historical events. Carter would be crying buckets though.... And I agree with you, slow burn stories are much better in books and less annoying. Aww it's fun interjecting and interacting on here.

2025-04-08 22:12:57 +0000 UTCi love slow burn but only when it's done right. there are certain slow burn stories where the love interests barely interact for most of the show but end up falling head over heels so gosh darn quickly in the last few episodes and then the romance gets wrapped up all 'happily ever after' like in two seconds. those ones i CANNOT HANDLE. i think i prefer reading slow burn romances than watching them nowadays. as for the guys, i honestly think cannon might enjoy them...but probably only him haha. crash landing on you is SUCH A THROWBACK for some reason, i watched that show when i was what, 16?? that is CRAZY TO ME! also, don't apologise for interjecting, because i welcome any interjections hehe.

They're not all about skinship either since they're conservative and more reserved. And with Brig's reaction, it kind of makes me think they wouldn't necessarily enjoy a romance Kdrama. But then again, I'm kind of curious what they would think of Crash Landing on You. Sorry I didn't mean to interject. It just made me think of it.

2025-04-08 21:44:45 +0000 UTChey brig, if you want some context as to why the romances/dynamics between the boys and girls feel weird to you: basically, it literally comes down to difference in culture more than anything else. the west is very different to the east when it comes to relationships. something that seems like a given, e.g. su-hyeok hugging on-jo out of happiness that cheong-san is alive but then glancing at nam-ra and letting go of her; or how 'childish' the boys were when they thought pink sweater girl was flirting with gyeong-su in the recording room– all of this seems juvenile and stupid to us in the west because relationships here develop so much quicker than they do in more conservative countries (like South Korea). i guess you could describe it how you're doing, by comparing it to middle school; but my point is this– the comments the characters are making and how they're behaving towards each other is very normal in Korea for kids their age. the perfect example to demonstrate this cultural difference is what i like to call: 'the wonderful world of romance kdramas'. romance kdramas are IMMENSELY popular, not only in Korea but worldwide. their worldwide appeal lends itself to one thing more than anything else, the slow burn of it all! nowadays, romance kdramas be wilding out, but in the past, it would take half the freaking season for a couple to even touch hands (let alone kiss!!). if we got a kiss in the finale, we'd be lucky...okay i'm exaggerating to some degree but kdrama fans know what i mean. anyway brig, i hope i don't sound like i'm patronising you. just felt like explaining since i've heard you say this a couple of times.

2025-04-08 21:22:08 +0000 UTCprez is a very reserved person among her classmates, and with the bought-out class prez title that she neither wanted nor her classmates respected, she felt more anti-social towards them. this type of people are the ones to not really care what go on around them or butt in on other people's situations, so in this apocalyptic world where no one yet knew that the blood can be used to contaminate others, she didn't really pay that much attention when nayeon was wiping the blood off that stick. but it jumped to prez's mind when she saw nayeon using the same handkerchief on that guy's open wound and him eventually turning to zombie.

At first it can have detrimental effects when it first happens to first wave of infections hence why everyone started turning immediately into zombies. Then when more people get exposed, the virus adapts to different people’s immune systems, evolves and mutates causing it to be stronger. But these new mutations eventually come along, reinfect those who already had the virus before and also infects new people as their immune systems were too strong for the first couple strains. And now the virus is essentially in its weakest state as pretty much every human has had atleast one form/mutation of the virus and can’t mutate anymore. Making what the bully and the bullied girl is now, which i assume is half human and half zombie. I always think that zombies are just if humans had a severe case of rabies. And when that rabies infection has been through as many mutations as possible, it eventually will have an effect on humans to where they can be a human/zombie hybrid where they never die and are invincible. But i honestly would not want to be in that state. I would just want to die a human or to never come back if i ever died as a zombie.

The premise alone draws you in closer and closer. This episode is so good. I was relieved and happy that Cheong-san lived but can't stand Gwi-nam. But he plays the villian card well I guess. The impenetrable rat lol But yeah, it would be so devastating to realize your loved ones all turned into zombies... I might not have the will to go on either. Also so glad we finally are at the Halfbie or Hambie arc. It's intriguing and makes the show different from the rest. Episode 6 is pretty insane. Can't wait for it to drop!

It eventually shows how zombies are actually like rabid animals? And they still have some instincts (on a select few with strong emotions prior) where the book eventually reveals that these kids that have thoughts but are zombies were born from two infected people. And the idea is that the more the kids grow up and have their own offspring, it will eventually be a new type of human. (since the main issue is only when they get near normal humans they become hungry, otherwise they are tame and think fine.)
