I'll explain my hate for it. While I did like the 4th movie, the 5th pissed me off from the character assassination. Will is all of a sudden a bum, completely different and ignores his responsibilities. Jack is not his enjoyable self that carries heavily. They just ignore so many things just to make the movie's plot work. Black Pearl fastest ship? Nope. Barbossa's sword has powers? Only when the plot wants it too. While it was definitely better on a rewatch, like Jack said, its definitely my least favorite.

I think I remember it being bad because at the time it was made, Hollywood was making better movies than this, but with almost no good movies for the last 6 years, this now feels like a quality film

2025-04-06 02:22:08 +0000 UTCThe reason why people didn't enjoy the fourth or fifth that much and even called them awful from the past was because of the wait for them to come out. The first three were pretty quick to release and they followed a more tight story design. The fourth came out many years later, and the fifth even more so. Now an easy way to imagine it, would be how you lads looked forward to the second season of arcane soooo much. Remember how it felt like an eternity for the three or so years? And then how it felt a bit of a disappointment because it didn't live up to the past season? The fourth and fifth were like that for us who had to wait for yearssss and had seen them in theatres. 😩 You lads watched all 5 in a short amount of time and didn't have to wait long. It's a lot more enjoyable watch this time when you go through all 5 in a short period, compared to if you decided to wait a couple years for the fourth after watching the first three, and then another couple years for the fifth. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the watch, but there is valid reasons for why the past watchers didn't care for the last two movies.

I got sad for Barbossa, didn't remember him dying. This movie was amazing. I remember watching it in cinema long time ago. Fun Fact, for my 13th birthday I had a cake with Jack on it haha. My mom was confused about her teenager daughter liking a dirty old man haha

He was acting like a child, his weird high-pitched muttering and it seems like he couldn't be bothered with anything lol... in the 2nd movie he sacrificed his soul to Davy Jones to save the pearl but when it sinks in this one he's like "she was a fine ship" and seemingly doesn't care. For most ppl Jack Sparrow is this series and without him being him it just feels dull hence the collective hate. But i'm glad you guys didn't notice it too much and enjoyed the series!! Really hoping you guys watch Transfomers next :)

I'm glad Will got uncured and it was a happy ending, but it didn't have the same magic. Special effects wise I would say it was great.

2025-04-04 03:31:48 +0000 UTCAlso this movie is good for side characters, but the reason why people hate it is because they made Jack a buffoon. He’s always been funny but unintentionally so. They take it too far with the last two. Being intelligent and wise and cunning, and menacing is part of why he’s such an infamous and amazing character in the lore. I’ll take the L on this movie being bad. It isn’t. It’s pretty damn epic. But I won’t accept this is Jacks final goodbye to the franchise. He needs a better ending that begins with him being the captain of the Black Pearl and ends with him being the captain of the seas. We need a movie that shows the audience exactly why he’s Captain mother effin Jack Sparrow!
