Second one was weaker overall, but a fun time. Third one wrapped up the story perfectly, and made you appreciate the second one more because it got you there. Fourth one had lost all its magic and didn't need to be made. Fifth one was a nice attempt to capture lighting in a bottle a 2nd time, but ultimately... why are we still making these?? Let the character(s) rest.

Nowadays I do acknowledge 1 and 2+3 are better but it still has special place in my heart and it's definitely overhated, it has some amazing moments and probably the best ending out of all the movies

My favorite scene from this movie was definitely the Spaniards destroying The Fountain of Youth - completely unexpected, and Barbosa kills his role as always. I think the next movie is comparable to this one in terms of enjoyment, but you may like it more.

This one is ranked 4th for me (3,1,2,4) i thought Ian Mcshane and Penelope Cruz were good additions to the cast but upon this rewatch i was so over the mermaid x human love story. It literally serves no purpose other than two hot ppl getting together (and for the people who loved Will and Elizabeth's romance), cut that out and the movie remains the exact same but better lol

It jumps from exposition-heavy dialogue to random fights, repeating that pattern throughout, making it feel like a parody of the franchise.
