He would die with his eyes closed too. We all know it. The game paints him as a villain for doing the objective moral thing (saving a daughter who did not consent to death for a cure that is scientifically impossible) Ellie being mad at him and Joel not explaining his actions was so laughably awful. Like bro you’re mad at your father for saving your life from terrorists who were going to murder you at 14 without ur consent for an impossible cure. Ellie being constantly shamed for her killing while the game treats Abby like she’s a saint with no flaws even tho she’s worse than Ellie and Joel x100 (she was known as the number one killer and tortured for the WLF). The game utterly fails to humanize Abby besides cheap things like she likes animals and she’s afraid of heights. (There’s a reason that in basically any YouTuber play through you can find, they ALL let Ellie kill Abby during the fight scene). Also let’s be real here being that massive takes away from my immersion considering she would need to be taking steroids to maintain that amount of muscle mass which wouldn’t be available in an apocalypse. Mel being allowed to go on patrols WITH KNOWN MURDERERS AND TORTURES OUTISDE as well as zombies while 8 months pregnant is so laughable. The pacing of the game is atrocious, u reach the climax then u have to play 10 more hours with a character u despise just to reach the climax again. Dina feels like a pure plot device with no character whatsoever besides Ellies lover. The ending of the game goes against the entire premise of the game and tries to go the whole revenge bad killing isn’t cool route. This is after u play 30 hours of brutally murdering 100s of people in some of the most epic and satisfying gameplay to ever exist. So much more I could say but it would take hours.

Also please point out when I said I want to recreate the game frame by frame! My point is the game is damn near perfect and the tv show did not do a SINGLE thing to elevate the source material and instead actively took away from it.

Tess’ conclusion was generic and completely went against the themes of the game for a cool explosion scene, bill not meeting Joel and Ellie strips them of a full ep of crucial character development and instead we get a filler ep with zero impact on the overarching narrative. Henrys conclusion makes Ellie look braindead and hurts the reveal. Ellie herself as a character comes across as super unlikeable throughout the whole series. Kathleen as an antagonist and leader of the bandits was such a joke. Joel getting injured was sooo meh compared to the game. Joel and Ellie’s relationship felt super rushed and I really don’t buy how close they became. Joel’s rescue at the hospital was completely anticlimactic and rushed. The complete lack of infected as a whole besides like 3 episodes. The sense of danger just doesn’t really feel there as a whole as well. I can go on and on but 6/10 is more than fair imo.

I liked Bella as lady Mormont she was great, but I’m sorry her casting as Ellie is one of the worst miscasts of all time. TLOU is prob my top 1 game of all time. TLOU 2 has top 3 gameplay I’ve ever experienced with a bottom 3 story I’ve ever experienced. Theres much better story telling out there, I do love the games tho and the first one made huge strides for gaming and the second for female story leads. However the second game got too much hate even if people didn't like it that much it went way over board online.

I didn't dislike her acting, but she's one of those actresses who just perpetually looks like a kid. Ellie is 14 in the first season, so no real problem there. I know the actress is older, but she still looks too young to play Ellie for S2, at least if they're sticking with the timeframe of the game. I think Cailee Spaeny would've been a better choice as Ellie. Her performance in Alien: Romulus solidified that for me. ALSO, another yet-to-be-named character in the trailer looks younger and unfortunately, she isn't absolutely shredded like she is in the game lmao.

The Remastered version for Part I is an incredible modern experience of the game and I'm excited for the release of the Part II release in just a few weeks. They are incredible pieces of fiction and gameplay and personally I really connect with game Ellie more than show Ellie, but that's probably just due to nostalgic connection to the original characters. SERIOUSLY incredible games!!!

2025-03-27 04:34:34 +0000 UTCyou guys HAVE to play the games after. if you streamed it or posted it anywhere id BE THERE!! as for it being a faithful adaptation, it was for the most part. there were a few character changes and minor plot changes. only major thing was episode 3 (which in my opinion is the best episode anyway). nothing about that episode was in the game; when we meet up with bill, frank is already dead. i also do think they will split the second game across two seasons but that’s just my opinion. won’t go into detail why but..! so far just based on trailers, behind the scenes photos and info from the cast, this season seems like it’ll be a very faithful adaptation as well. there’s already a few minor changes i’ve personally noticed, me being the certified biggest last of us part two stan of all time, but i’m genuinely so excited to watch this with you guys.
