This gave me High school of the Dead vibes, minus the sussy lol At the beginning, the symbol that is know as "swastika" in western cultures it's actually a religious symbol, I dunno what is called in Korea but it's call "Manji" in Japan, you will see it a lot in Asian shows since it's part of Hinduism and Buddhism. In those cultures were these religions are predominant the symbol is still used for what it is, and not for what it was appropriated by the Nazis.

The guys have done this before with anime. Just remember, this isn’t a poll winner guaranteed show, it’s still undecided. For me both are good. Both deal with themes that are not my favorites and yet I really enjoyed it. But if you have to make a choice I would take The Glory. The plot is just incredible. I couldn't stop bingeing. The fact that AOUAD is so gore is violent plays a role. Some scenes are hard to watch. In short, imo The Glory is better.

I honestly think 'Weak Hero Class 1' or 'Bloodhounds' would be up your alley more, if you eventually get to either of them, but this one is entertaining too! To me, this show is fairly good. I think it's better than some, but not one of the best k-dramas that I've seen. Still an entertaining watch and was popular enough to be hyped on YT with many reactors. You'd be able to react to season 2 once it releases along with all the other channels that have reacted to this show if you decided to do so. The Glory is pretty good too, and I think you guys might actually like it. For me, I'd consider The Glory a little better than this one in terms of writing, but still don't consider it one of the best. I could also be a little biased bc I'm not a fan of The Glory's writer or most of her work, but it's probably her best writing out of all her works and definitely worth for you guys to try as well. Anyways, I'm here for whatever!

If we're talking K-drama's that would be good for the guys to check out on Netflix, I reckon "Itaewon Class" and "Bloodhounds" would be good options. Just based off the type of story and characters that the boys seem to gravitate towards, those two are probably the one's that I would recommend. They both have GOATED MC's. they're both underdog stories, the characters are complex and interesting and there are a lot of good emotional moments too.

I liked this show when I watched it and I still think it is good, but it didn’t grip the way The Glory did. The Glory is a phenomenal show and probably one of my favorite k dramas. The plot is spectacular and the characters are compelling. That would definitely be my vote, but if you are going to watch both then that’s fine too☺️

All of Us Are Dead is good. It’s not the best, but it’s entertaining. However, if you want to watch a good show, I would most definitely watch The Glory, Weak Hero Class 1, and Bloodhounds. In my opinion, the glory should be an excellent starter for K-Dramas, but I would love for y’all to continue watching this series and maybe get The Glory next🤞🏼

I remember watching AOUAD when it came out and enjoyed it back then, you guys seemed hyped throughout this first episode so imo you can finish this series first before watching The Glory. It's only 12 eps anyway. To answer Brig's question, bullying in Korea is reallyyy crazy and I would say the things shown here is mild in comparison. The Glory is based on a true story but it even had to tone down some parts because the bullying experienced by the person it was based on was even worse in real life.

@Jimmy Very opinion based - for example All of Us Are Dead blew up, and I'd happened to watch it all before the hype even started, but its not one of my favorites + based off a Webtoon, in a way which I think you can feel. On the other hand The Glory is an objectively better show imo, and also blew up and won several awards, but its not one of my favs in terms of enjoyment. That one is very heavy and inspired by true stories. All that to say that I think one of the best ways to find K-dramas you'll enjoy is just to peek around and read the synopsis/watch the trailers, and you'll be sure to find something

@Sissy Six Imo this isn't one of my fav K-dramas either so I def wouldn't say to write them off even if you don't enjoy this one, but also the plot/genre is very diff + while I do enjoy AIB, I wouldn't say its objectively /great/ either. Also idk if this is the case for you, but something that I tend to warn of with J-dramas is that they can often still feel very 'anime-esque' even with the live actions, which can feel too jarring for some people. It varies because obviously different cultures and all, so things are bound to feel a bit different at times regardless (also depending on genres), but K-dramas often tend to feel more comparable to western acting

@Nanashi Tbh some of the Kdramas I've enjoyed most are ones I just saw and watched on my own. A lot of the ones that I've seen blow up myself and ended up watching didn't appeal me as much, whether just in enjoyment or interest, so I feel like its less about listening to the crowd and simply looking towards things that peak /your/ interest. I've also seen Succession and enjoyed it, but that doesn't mean no Kdramas ever gonna be worth the time. Also tbf Succession is 4 seasons, while this show is only 12 episodes, so there's a big difference in time commitment too, if they're just looking for a shorter show slot rn

Language isnt the only factor here. Agent September even mentioned Dark (another show with subtitles). Its genre and culture-based preferences not simply language. Yall can discuss this in good faith and realize Game of Thrones/Dark and Alice and Borderlands/All of us are Dead are pretty incomparable despite all being live action. Lets not act obtuse. Studio Gek blessed me by listening to my reccomendation on severance so im okay with whatever show they choose for the rest of the year lol but its also okay for other people who came for more western shows to be dissapointed in the lack of said shows. I haven't seen this show since it came out so it def feels a bit like a throwback lol - to Cannon's question in the beginning I do think The Glory is the better show, but even though All of Us Are Dead isn't one of my favs, it probably does make for good reactions and I'd watch another season if it ever dropped. Both can be pretty dark of course, but The Glory is a veryyy heavy show of a different sort. I always say so but if I could recommend another K-drama following the Korean zombies theme, it would be Kingdom 🙏🏻🙏🏻 such a good show with a historical twist, and one of my personal favs p.s. The symbol on the flag wasn't actually a swastika but a 'manji' (this is the Japanese term for it anyway, it might be different in Korean) which is a Buddhist symbol associated with good fortune and such I believe. To be fair since the flag was hanging it also looked a bit different, but a swastika is a tilted and differently facing version of the manji, which lays flat. Its in several other cultures and religions as well, I'm just more familiar with the Japanese context (in which you'll see it marking Buddhist temples on maps and such) but I think it originated in India intially, if I remember correctly. Hitler appropriated and twisted the symbol both literally and metaphorically.

Exactly the guys channel started with Asian content, so I don’t see how people have a problem with them continuing to dive further into content like Kdramas or Japanese Live Actions. Just a little clarification guys. it's not a Nazi symbol. In Korea it's called "Manja" it's also in a lot of other asian countries (in Japan it's called "Manji" for example). It's a buddhist symbol and isn't affiliated with Nazis. They even look slightly different to a Nazi swastika (the buddhist symbol faces left whereas the one co-opted by the Nazi party faces to the right).
