The hate for the Skypiea arc is honestly misinterpreted. The arc isn't the problem, and the pacing has been like that throughout the anime and hasn't changed that much in the 1100's episodes, so really, people/fans are just complaining about the pacing in general. Shut up and admit you liked the arcs, some are just more interesting than others; given the info, but the pacing is the same formula lol.

This is where Zoro’s attacks start to become really interesting! Also impossible to give a short translation, lol. We’re going into Buddhism here, with the 36 disturbances/destructive passions/ill desires, ”bonnō”. So the pronunciation for the above is ”36 bonnō hō” , but the way it’s written to be pronounced in the manga is ”36 pond(o) hō”. Which means ”36 pound cannon”. As in old military cannons whose power was measured in pounds. Because Oda loves himself a pun. Shame about the animation budget apparently taking a hit in this episode, too. I don’t really felt it made the attack justice: https://i.imgur.com/31W5dXN.gif What I do think that they should have made a bit of an effort with in the translation is Zoro’s comments afterwards. He’s so much of a samurai here, with his expressions! It’s something along the lines of: ”I am pained for your sake. I bear you no ill will, but… I'm not such a fine jewel of a person to let myself be killed just because I’m asked to. I will take up the challenge… of this survival game.”

Colleen Clinkenbeard (Fun Fact she is the VA for Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist dub) does a wonderful job voicing Luffy. Her and Christopher Sabat (Voice actor for Vegeta in Dragonball) as Zoro are like the key reasons why I started my English dub watch of One Piece. Also fun fact Oda hand picks every actor and voice actor for the straw hats in every version of One Piece.

If you pay attention to the islands and societies we see in the show, most side and background female citizens are modestly and appropriately dressed. I think it’s just a big overreacting by you. Rant over. P.s. I’m not supporting every choice oda makes in that manner but I’m not against it either. It’s his story and all of that stuff he does fits realistically in the world he’s established. Have you not thought that there are narrative points and character personalities traits that lead to such wardrobe choices? I’m sure oda often does it for the appeal, but he often shows men shirtless and showing a lot of skin, do you find a problem with that. Yeah oda is often generous with how much skin he shows, but why is that a bad thing? Majority of the time it’s not presented in a negative tone and it’s just presenting natural parts of the human figure that exists, majority of the time the characters in question don’t seem to be bothered or harmed by it. So how is any of that disrespectful? It just seems like it’s something that doesn’t meet your standards.

Skypiea is very high up in the sky with no safe way of getting there, it’s extremely risky to attempt the travel, therefore not many people get to visit. Though pirates have reached it and brought back evidence of the,(wavers/dials), it seems to be an Urban legend or non existence to most people. Even the residence of jaya, directly below skypiea, joke about its existence. From that we can gather that at least skypiea isn’t common knowledge to the world therefore not publicly recognised by the world government. This also could explain why we haven’t seen a marine presence in this arc. So in summary I wrote everything above just to tell YOU🫵, Cannon,…that the gun slinging Shandian would not likely know about the infamous (GOAT) pirate hunter Zoro.😂

Considering the crew was already disliking the pacing in Alabasta I think it would be smart to stick with One Pace for the rest of the series. The pacing will not improve from here.

With time tho, I got used to it plus getting to know her character more and her very direct personality/humour made the monotone voice fit her character (dw her VA has range…iykyk 👀). She’s also meant to be in her late 20s so I guess that’s why they went for a more mature voice compared to the rest who are early 20s/ late teens
