Im guessing those might have been a bit harder for you to provide your support for? In this one the specifics would require spoilers which I obviously wont provide. Your other point about a story in general providing a "set up" for itself is something pretty basic in writing. You set up A in a way that B logically follows if you get all the context, but write it in a smart way that makes the audience feel the conclusion will fall into place when they look back at the context clues you left along the way. One of the best examples is Attack on Titan - a show that provides endless set up that you would never be able to guess before it is actually revealed, but after the reveal it feels really smart, rewarding, deepens characters, their relationships, enriches the world structure, interconnects so many ideas and concepts and ties everything together in a way that provides a clear message that the author intended, while leaving plenty of room for additional interpretations by the viewer. I feel AIB does next to nothing like what Ive described. It is extremely superficial in almost every aspect that Ive mentioned. The stuff you mentioned, fireworks, the chips, the vegetation... after the final reveal... give me a break - because the final reveal basically makes all those context "clues" next to meaningless, and for reasons I cant really get into due to spoilers, but I am happy to engage with you on this later.

2025-02-13 06:39:29 +0000 UTCWhy does it need to set up the resolution throughout the story? There’s more than one way to do a show than guiding the audience all throughout/ giving direct answers. Setting up “properly” as you want would be boring and not as intriguing anymore. This is not to mention that the fireworks, the fast growing vegetations, the unfounded CPS chips in the brain and all the other hints out there have already properly set it up for the final reveal (and the other abandoned explanations). Just because the explanation/answer is not obvious throughout the story (btw it’s purposely not obvious, not something left out due to writing mistake) or it’s not what you have expected or imagined doesn’t mean it’s not proper. To me the best thing about the show is despite all the hints, it has kept it mysterious, it does not reveal the truth or give you the answer until the end. What possible ending could you think of can be a satisfying ending? Don’t just criticise. If you have any better and more creative idea than the writer, please share it and enlighten us. You think that if those other possible explanations would have been true it would have been a similarly unsatisfying ending. Well, that’s exactly the reason why all the other possible explanations are not used as the final explanation at the end, but they are only there to tease the audience and more of a surprising plot twist. As to the final reveal, it does tie everything up, with the firework being the preview and proper set up. I’d rather appreciate shows, not just this show but shows in general, focus on the good things just to give the writer/director more credits for their thought-through writing/shots which ppl normally couldn’t think of (unless they’re better writers/directors). You’re free to express your thoughts and opinions, but a 2/10 rating seems ridiculous and outrageous to me.

I was really looking forward to every episode each week. Season 1 ending was somewhat disappointing so - a 7/10 for me just because of how it ended. Season 2 crashed and burned for me especially towards the end. S2 ep7 I cant honestly rate higher than a 2/10 because, despite everything being explained in the final episode, it is still one of the biggest examples I have ever seen in my life of anything being so insulting to its viewers intelligence... and with SO many consecutive examples that keep on happening NON STOP throughout the episode. Final episode Id give a 4/10, not because of how it ended but because it didnt actually properly earn or set up that resolution throughout the story. It felt cheap and just glued at the end. If any of the other possible explanations given at "that" one point would have been true it would have been a similarly unsatisfying ending. Season 2 overall - 5/10 - a shame because I really liked the show at the beginning, but I hoped it would have been more creative and original with its ending. Show overall - 6/10. Was still often fun despite sometimes cringe and rage inducing, but I feel some of the deeper concepts the show tried to take on, it didnt really do them justice.

Kotoko was weak-willed therefore, vulnerable to his suggestibility. He got off on controlling & manipulating others. His mistake was approaching an infamous serial killer. Yaba and Banda were more menacing in the manga. Yaba actually did things. But yes, their love for the Borderlands lead to equal partnership and a win. J❤️ remembered fear that day. He came across players who were more psycho and egotistical than he was lol My controversial fave duo in the manga.

The Jack of Hearts game has got some of the best lines of the show (like how it describes the serial killers and psychopaths as only having a theoretical understanding of others’ feelings) and it also brings out some of the important themes: trust and equality. The episode itself also got some great lines: “In life, even when it seems you’ve hit the dead end, you turn a corner, and there’ll be a narrow road leading you further.” I like how they use the film/footage (instead of showing us directly the scenes) to tell us where Ann is about, what kind of world they’re in, and throw in little bits of hints (though not really hints) of how they get to this world. It’s a great change of pace and presentation, making things more mysterious and subtle than direct story telling. I also like how in season 2 they always split “one episode/game” into two episodes and make the first half of an episode a continuation of the previous one, and the second half leading into the next episode. It makes the story flows better and also leaves you with more excitement with the cliffhangers.
