Even before One Piece in the 80’s, there were brutal bloody mangas like ‘Fist of the North Star’ which was also categorized as Shonen. In terms of targeting at kids, there are manga magazines specifically for kids such as ‘Shogakukan’ on which Pokemon was originally published. I think it’s more like Oda’s personal style as he explained in SBS.

Seeing all the death is not the point of the show or is it good image to promote to kids, its about enduring and overcoming insane odds so they can also tackle the real world in the same way as Japanese society is very repressive and rigid. As the viewers grew older, so did the characters and stories in One Piece which can now involve deaths to make the emotional impacts since most of the viewers are emotionally ready. There's a mix of financial longevity and Oda's push for progressive movements without as much death as possible. Even in Pokemon theres rarely deaths.

OP is a series in which having a strong desire/will to do something is the most important thing in achieving it so characters (like the straw hats) that are highly motivated are extra durable because they have the will to go on

Fun fact: The kanji on Mr.2's back is 盆暮れ, it means the end of the year, like the new year's eve, as it is, but it is pronounced as "BON-KU-RE" so it is a word play of his name. We do these Kanji word play all the time, and we can use any kanji that have the same sound but I think Mr.2 chose this specific Kanji because it has this kind of sense of vagueness, you know, the end of the year. He is very "vague" guy as you already know. The good example would be 夜露死苦(YO-RO-SI-KU). I don't know how to translate YOROSIKU to English but I'm sure you've have heard the word before. YOROSHIKU should be written in HIRAGANA as よろしく we use 夜露死苦(夜=night, 露=Russia, 死=death, 苦=suffering) because this is the type of word play that teenagers often use and we all know the teenager syndrome, right?

That’s all I’ll say in case you guys want to check it out one day. The anime never animated it though but its main story canon.

Especially when its things like Koza getting shot or other characters that we know aren't super durable like Luffy and Zoro that just tank death blows.

Especially because One Piece is so long, you really get a sense of the straw hats journey from nothing and no one to an infamous group of pirates. Even for you Geks think about it, you saw Luffy at the very start, when it was just him and zoro alone on their little ragtag boat. And now you've watched them episode by episode, rise to having a 100 million berry bounty and a 60 million berry bounty respectively. I remember one of you said that you really like when people call luffy 'strawhat' and I've always been the same way. It's a nice thought that we saw so many interactions at the start where literally no one knew luffy, and now his name and pirate crew has spread far enough in their verse that people can recognise him as 'strawhat' since he just keeps getting more and more infamous.

So It can be inferred her name is Hina and that she likes to talk about herself in the 3rd person. Also random fact, apparently in Japan using your name to refer to yourself is a thing some young adult women do as a cute quirk, although a lot of the time it’s seen as cringey/immature, as it’s a thing kids would do but grow out of by the time they reach middle school. So maybe her having this quirk is meant to reinforce the perception of a cute/traditional pretty woman archetype, but maybe that’s a stretch.
