I believe why it rains immediately after Croc is defeated is that he was using dance powder to make it rain, and he planned it so that after the bomb went off, he would show up and proclaim himself the new ruler of Alabasta, and then it would immediately start to rain, to make the people support him even more. But with both him and the bomb taken out, the rain had the opposite effect, signaling his defeat instead of his victory. I love this cause it's basically Croc's super detailed plans backfiring on him, he's hoisted by his own petard.

Crocodile atm is very C tier in the one piece world, and gets most of his power from his devil fruit and his influence running these businesses and organisations. He’s not that strong and luffy and his crew are very much weaklings at this point in time. Like ants. There’s literally so many characters in the one piece world and characters like crocodile probably won’t fit into the list of 100 most formidable characters.

Just think of it this way, the further they travel into the grand line - the more dire, serious and difficult the journey gets. Mihawk foreshadowed this in his intro saying the east blue which is where the series starts - is the weakest of all the seas. Alabasta is literally only 10% into this show. It’s gonna get crazier, and mind blowing trust me- but by the time u reach peak, the fights won’t be the only thing u crave- the lore and the story will be the main anchor and hook of the show

@Rayanh LaNansha. If I think you're talking about the same arc I'm thinking of, then you know Toei has/is already redoing the arc with better pacing and animation. It's going on right now while the anime is on hiatus. So they should watch that arc with just the new animation and pacing that Toei themselves are redoing right now. So One Pace won't be needed as the arc will already have been remade by the time they get there.

One piece receives improved animation at alabasta, water 7, marine ford, fishman island and becomes modernized at wano. Not every arc is going to see improvements and many of them are very small in the grand scheme of things but you can always tell the animation increases at every major arc because they want it to feel fresh and important

Very hard to power scale when we know so much and so much has changed with the story but having said that I’d say Croc fits around the 60-70 range. Theirs sooo many strong named characters that yall haven’t met yet. But ability wise his fruit is still one of the strongest in the series with a lot of versatility it’s just his weakness is soo exploitable. I personally still think he shouldn’t have lost to luffy but it’s understandable cause oda barely had the story planned out at this point. (He assumed One piece would end in 5 years lol)

Oda answered a question in an SBS explaining exactly how water can affect devil fruit users, long story shot; water itself doesn’t affect a user, it’s being submerged in any body of water that affects them, hence not being able to swim. Being splashed with water does nothing, the more of your body is submerged the weaker you get and the less you can move.

Well they chose to watch the original anime. Not one pace, they contemplated watching One pace but they decided not to if i recall correctly. The bad thing about One Pace is yeah they cut the BS but is not smooth. Is literally scenes cut and glued together and most of the time it looks choppy. All power to people that like watching it like that i couldnt. Thats why i havent watched either the new episode that they remastered either of fish-man island.

I started One Piece alongside you guys, and around episode 100 I started watching ahead of you guys. Now I am in the 300s, but 126 is probably still my favorite episode. The shots, music, tension, animation, buildup, everything came together beautifully in this episode, and I tear up and get chills every time I rewatch some of these scenes! I have no idea where to rank Crocodile on a power scale, but the Seven Warlords is definitely a hefty title. I’m honestly thinking that he underestimated Luffy pretty much the entire time, and Luffy just somehow went demon mode beyond comprehension

I wouldn’t think about one piece as S-F tier crocodile is pretty strong but his strength is heavily reliant his devil powers like notice how when luffy figures out his weakness to water he turns to dirty tricks like the poison hook or the blade. He didn’t have much else in terms of hand to hand skills.

My take is that Crocodile's usefulness to the govt comes from Baroque Works, and how powerful their inflitration/deception game is (Mr. 2 hard carries). Don't get me wrong Croc is powerful in his own right (I agree with C/B- Tier), but his weakness is too glaring. The next mini-arc is about to give a glimpse into Brigs question at the end. I wish I could just say it all, but early One Piece is suffering on rewatch. There's so much we know but cannot say, and some of it will stay that way for literal YEARS.

Ok this might sound crazy but I think you guys should do One Pace or at least give it a try when you guys feel the pacing issues. One Pace has a much better cut and better pacing compared to the original one piece especially in the earlier parts of the story and it follows the manga panels so you wouldn’t miss any important information while also cutting out the bs from One Piece. Does the One Piece cooked sometimes with original anime adapted scenes? Yes, but it’s a very low percentage about 5% anime original stuff is actually good compared 90% of it dragging and pacing the episodes. Anyways my main points are try One Pace, it follows the manga panels so you wouldn’t miss any important stuff. You guys can also catch up to the story sooner and enjoy the story more with the pacing issues being fixed . You might get pushed back from some of the fans but just enjoy the story however you want bro as long as you don’t miss the canon stuff which you won’t using One Pace. Ultimately we just want you guys to enjoy the story and have the best experience possible!

i really recommend you guys do 4 an episode not only to try and catch up a little but to get through it so there’s less of a chance of you being spoiled. it’s important not to rush the journey but one piece is a journey itself so watching 4 episodes might feel easier and honestly more cohesive. i’m really excited to watch you guys react to future arcs and i hope it’s not in 2030 🙏 good video

Ofcourse alot of things are matchup depended and how someone would be able to get stronger so its hard to compare against people who already are scaled in the story, with some things explained later he wouldnt stand a chance on how he is now. But still he is not a warlord because he is top of the notch fighter but because he is also very smart, most warlords are people with alot of influence so they have alot of pirates follow them as you see with crocodile and how many he has under his command

Compared to the very top powers of the one piece world, I’d say croc is B tier minimum, which is pretty good seeing as we are nearing the end of the story and there’s over 1000 named characters for which most are fighters in some way.

the end of this arc is soooo goood, and yes the song you guys recognized is a famous piece by dvorak, it’s called “new world symphony”, fits perfectly with the episode, since both alabasta and the straw hats are about to enter a new world. now that crocodile’s gone, alabasta’s future is brighter than ever, and for luffy, beating a warlord takes his reputation to a whole different level. the score is so epic for an ending but also a good representation for a transition to the beginning of something unknown, but exciting in the narrative. I’m eager to know your thoughts of the last few eps! so sad jack was not here for some peak lol, but I’m loving your one piece journey a lot :) it feels very organic/real, and I have to say that mckay has had the biggest change out of everyone on the couch imo, he used to be so quiet during the reactions, and now I feel like he speaks his mind on anything that’s going on😭 love that fr!!

I think it’s funny no one can answer the question of where exactly Crocodile ranks 😅. That’s the plight of knowing too much, not knowing enough and not wanting to say too much. C- tier sounds about right, though. All that aside, I’ve enjoyed rewatching One Piece through you guys. I try not to re-binge too far ahead so that I can still be surprised alongside you guys, about a few things I forgot along the way. crocodile suffers from being introduced early and has sorta been retconned to fit his actually place in the story. Crocodile is probably top 50 which is actually really good. anyone in the top 50 is an island lvl threat who can defeat armies alone but this early version of him is probably not even top 500

Y'know it's funny, because if I'm remembering correctly Oda actually regrets placing Crocodile in such an early arc, because he feels like he sorta wasted his "strength potential" if that makes sense. It feels like he's supposed to be stronger than he actually is. I'm not saying he isn't strong, he's one of the seven warlords and all. But in that list, without any spoilers, he's pretty low tier. MAYBE low to mid tier at best. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that he's pretty strong for being at the beginning of the grand line, where it's full of rookie pirates. but if he goes up against any of the heavy hitters, he's usually getting stomped pretty thoroughly lol. So I think putting him at low C, high D tier is pretty accurate.
