Building off the Game of Thrones mention at the end, I think that part of the reason that I and many others hate season 7 and 8 is because the story was so poorly written. If George wanted to do some of the same themes like Dany going mad and the white walkers aren't the final bad guys, it would be better accepted as long as it is still congruent with everything else that is happening. D and D had no idea how to create their own mysterious and compelling. Although I would definitely still hate if Arya kills the Night King (especially with a knife trick while jumping past a bunch of white walkers).

The pacing for the pre time skip is fine, using one pace now will be more of a disservice than service to your watching experience. The commenters are just impatient. You’d get way less suggestions for one pace right now if you did more than 4 eps p/w(not suggesting you should). Also the boys already know about a time skip so don’t worry.

I used arc instead of saga in my comment but to be fair, One Pace detracts nothing from the episodes you mentioned imo. But yeah, the next arc per se doesn’t really need One Pace because it’s on the shorter side, but I don’t think using it would detract from the experience. Honestly, if we stick to this same schedule of 4 episodes a week, I would argue it will enhance it for them. In the end, I trust Jack, so whatever he decides, I’m cool with

2025-02-01 20:58:25 +0000 UTCPlease, guys, I beg you not to watch One Pace for the next arc just yet. You really only need One Pace from around episode 500 onwards. The reason is that, from that point on, many episodes adapt only one manga chapter or sometimes even just half a chapter per anime episode. For example, you might see random people running or looking shocked for five minutes straight, which is why One Pace becomes so necessary. In contrast, earlier episodes often covered 4–5 chapters at a time. So, you really don’t need to watch the entire next arc in One Pace, especially since it’s a very important arc for the story.

The difference is I think Brig & McKay just shout out random names with no context for time to time but you were asking a specific question of when certain characters would show up that have only been slightly mentioned in the show thus far. Characters that the geks presume to be dead or the story/dialogue has show cased them no longer being present. You weren't directly spoiling anything but if one of the geks were to read it, they may have drawn assumptions that would have slightly spoiled their experience. As for Brig & McKay, I don't watch all the one piece uploads so I don't know if this is the case. But if what they’re also doing is similar & possibly ruining the experience for the other geks, your comment is completely fair.

(not talking about spoiling though. the boys give you a hard time for one word you said, if it ends up being right. even though that might be the most logical answer. watching it for the first time.) but just your opinions on characters, knowing there backstory. knowing when it gets good and bad in the arcs, anything like that. you dont know anything about that the first time watching, so i think it definitely affects their watch. its not that big a deal but i like hearing what the other 4 come up with on their own. its super cool when they get to the ideas on their own, without a comment or two from you. there is so much to talk about in the episodes, that i think you avoid saying some stuff. but also i love hearing your opinions too about one piece. its gotta be so hard being the only one whose watched, especially for one piece. i cant imagine. i hate spoilers, but thats just for myself. i guess thats why i care about this. but when it comes to haku, theres nothing you can do about that. youll just have to deal with it lol. sorry for the paragraph. just thinking about this. feel free to disregard. love the reacts, boys. my favorite reactors on youtube. keep it up.

Is just so happens that everything that hes done thus far resonates with the fan base. He just likes subverting and surprising his viewers, so if he’s seen a bunch of the public guess some plot points, he would sometimes change it. Don’t worry though he won’t change the main points he wants to tell. He also said something along the lines of that he used to look at fan theories online. But because all of the hardcore theorists occasionally guessing his big plot reveals he felt the need to one up his original plans, so he stopped looking at them and focused on aiming his writing at casual readers who would still be shocked, and that it is what it is if the dedicated theorists predicted them.

There are a lot of hints and foreshadowing in early chapters, like "raftel", Oda played with the Japanese characters in the begining of the series, no one knows what it means, and 1000 chapters later, iykyk, its one of the most satisfing revealing. I watched one video by Ohara, acturally Oda put a lot of hints in drawing and the use of Japanese characters which are difficult to notice. The new chapter released further proved that he planned everything early on. I feel that actually it could be he draws the picture in the new chapter at the very beginging of the series and then elaborated it. Thats why we viewers feel everything planned and well connected.

As the story unfolds, crazy revelations recontextulise prior plot points and weave together the narrative expanding world into greater depths & u realise the intention behind everything. One Piece lore and world building is unlike any other. It’s the main strong point of this series - not the fights the story itself. That’s why it keeps getting better and better and is the massive success that it is. It truly lives up to its reputation you’ll see :)

It's no secret that One Piece is not just about adventure, One Piece is adventure itself for everyone who watches / reads it. I came to a rather trivial comparison with a puzzle. Watching One Piece is like putting together a puzzle, only the pieces are scattered all over the world and you have to go on a round-trip adventure. You also don't even know the approximate size of the final puzzle. Sometimes you find a piece and it continues the main picture, for example, the sky, without adding anything new. Sometimes the piece doesn't fit anywhere and you put it aside until better times or forget about it altogether. And in some happy moments, the found piece either opens a new detail in the full picture (it turns out there is a sun in this endless sky ), or it fits that long-forgotten piece and now both pieces have meaning. I haven't read Song of Ice and Fire, but I have watched Game of Thrones. It's an amazing show, but the narrative model is different (though I think Carter's comparison is apt). But still, in Game of Thrones, the ending was very important. In One Piece, after the last big arc, I realized that I don't really care what a One Piece is or who finds it. When I finish putting the puzzle together and put it on the shelf, I'll feel happy for a split second, but then disappointment and emptiness will set in. It sounds pretentious now, but maybe someday you'll share my feelings. So my fear is not that One Piece will and badly, but that it will end someday.

It's ok to just let it breathe, we're happy they're watching too but I'd say less is more from people that already know the show unless they are asking something that is minor to answer. Or like ask questions but keep them vague and don't respond to their answers. Like you can start a conversation (example: Mihawk V Crocodile) but don't engage in it. Just my opinion, not hating.

Can’t wait for you guys to see the many peak moments of his journey. While Alabasta doesn’t rank in my top 10 arcs, characters like Crocodile, Ace and Luffy himself really make it up for me.

We already know a lot about what we will eventually learn when it is found, and we are aware of some 'prophecies' regarding what will happen narratively afterward. While the physical nature of the One Piece remains unknown, as fans, we understand the significance that finding or discovering it will have on the world. but if jackson has an actual theory of what the one piece PHYSICALLY is, id be intrigued to hear it from him, in maybe a spoiler thread or something.
