It actually plays with audiences’ mind regarding the different theories and possible answers to the mystery of the show (what kind of world they’re in) before the final big reveal. That’s where the plot twist lies. It’s a shame that you skipped it :’(

IMO the story of AIB is actually better than SG as it has more plot twists and better theme (meaning of life/ purpose of living/ true nature of one self in AiB than just playing childhood games for the sake of money and people betting on others’ deaths in SG). The games are not just about the games themselves but carries life lessons and moral values. If you understand the references to Alice in Wonderland, pick up the details and the metaphors in the subtitles (English as opposed to English cc) and get the “borderland” concept, you may reconsider it and have a different view.

I'm an American myself, so I can relate, but no, loan sharks in Korea wouldn't normally carry firearms. They might have some hidden in their buildings like you saw in the episode, but concealed carry isn't very common at all.

Also when Seong and the recruiter were going against each other, one of them would have died earlier instead of at the last min. For the purpose of the show, the bullet fired at the end and it ended up being the recruiter who died. It's very different from AiB, which doesn't depend on luck, you have to think how to get out of the situation. Overall a crazy episode indeed

2024-12-27 07:54:46 +0000 UTCidk why so many people came into season 2 with low expectations, if it was just gonna be a shitty cash grab they wouldn't have taken three years to make the second season. i just finished season 2 and i won't spoil anything, i'll just say that while i can't say which season was objectively better, i personally preferred season 2. the dynamics were wayyy more interesting to me and my favourite character in the show was only introduced this season, plus i think all the characters in this season were just generally more interesting :)

It felt like.. you were having dinner at a 5 star restaurant eating the best thing in the world, then suddenly.. a bomb was under your chair and everything went BLACK, then your ears starts ringing "tinnitus"! Then you as a viewer, **starring at the screen for a few seconds in silence like (was that it!!?) don't know where to start asking questions and what to think of how it ended.. I like S1 more (9.2/10), while S2 for me was (8.7/10) I can't say much here, don't want to spoil to compare or discuss in-detail of what happened, but if I were to compare these base on something.. Squid Game S1: was more like pristine Attack on Titan perfection vibe, while Squid Game S2: was more like high-mid almost equivalent of the feeling of S2 of Arcane, like something about it was off as it keeps getting closer to the end. Goshhh, so exited how you boys will see through this remaining episodes. Be careful scrolling on tiktok and twitter might gets spoiled, but then its actually everywhere, nobody can really blame you. S2 was the best, but it wasn't the greatest like S1 some might beg to differ.

It just lets you know how strong characters' ideals are if they are willing to put their life on the line for them. It is also a perfect opportunity to show who REALLY believes in themselves versus someone who is lying to themselves. Like that underling "dog" guy probably hated his life constantly having to deal with seeing the worst in people on a daily basis. It's not surprising he would come to hate people that make those choices and see them that way. He possibly also hated those people because they actually HAD a choice, while he probably didn't because working for an employer such as his, he perhaps couldn't just quit his job, or else he would have been killed because he knew too much about the organization. So after being discovered, the organization might have killed him either way, so he could have killed himself because he knew he was already dead... or Gi-Hun actually made him really see himself as he truly is... so he felt like such a dog that he finally admitted to himself that kind of life wasn't worth it anymore. I think that scene is super interesting because I can't say for sure why the "dog" guy killed himself but can find multiple reasons why he did.

I can say without a doubt that I actually enjoyed this season way more than the first. Without spoiling anything, I’ll just say that my reasoning is because the story/plot now has more depth to it but in a good way. So many interesting new characters as well. I can’t wait to see your guys reactions to this season and hear your guys thoughts on it
