guys you're definitely not ready for Mushoku Tensei, it's a lot more nuanced than your average shonen punch fest and it doesn't revolve around politic tension and suspense. It's a whole new experience and it it's hard to get into it not only if you haven't watched a ton of anime and know the medium, but also if you're not familiar with some social issues Japan has. You're like a year or two too soon xD

Mob Psycho, of course — it's a must-watch. Frieren, Spy x Family and Mashle are great shows, but they don't really suit a reaction format (or maybe it's just me) As for MHA, I was super hyped while I was watching, but a few days after finishing it, it left no lasting impression and I just don't care about it anymore (same with black clover). I'd call it a fast-food show, something enjoyable in the moment but forgettable afterward. Hope mob psycho comes out on top in this close race

One Piece didn’t even win on the main poll, the guys just picked it up cause of all the recommendations and one of the guys being a huge fan. While Naruto only won because it was a special request poll between the big three. The only shonen that actually won any of the previous main polls recently ( not recently ) was Haikyuu. But even that’s something different and not a battle shonen like the others they’ve watched so far, so I don’t see a problem when another battle shonen winning, considering the last one that won was actually One Punch Man. These other battle shonen like Mob, MHA, Dragon ball etc. only get a chance once the main poll comes around, a poll which has all different genres included and not just shonen unlike the special seinen only polls

Yeah I tend to like sports anime & manga that are more grounded, more realistic in a way and the writing actually puts effort into telling the audience as to why the sport in particular is important, why being an athlete is many peoples passion and also not just focus on the main characters goals and ambitions but the side characters too. The only over the top/exaggerated sports anime I still really like is ‘Kuroko no Basket’. While I still adore ‘The Prince of Tennis’ due to nostalgia reasoning of it being my first sports anime

All of these shows are awesome but just putting this out there: Frieren would be like a nice reset for the new year amongst all the battle shonen and darker shows, it's super hopeful and positive. And then going back to the more action-heavy shows (although it has incredible action sequences and animation too) would be fun to watch. But I'm sure we'll all be here for whatever you choose! :)

IM HOPING MOB PYSCHO WINS. It’s genuinely a good coming of age anime with amazing perspectives on personal philosophies/morals, and you still get heartfelt/badass fight scenes. It has a lot of heart. Also honestly mha kinda went downhill in the last few seasons. They should’ve done a few things differently which I blame the toxic and gross fanbase. I’d assume the author couldn’t handle the retaliation on certain scenes and changed some things but that’s my speculation.

Lmao. If we went by that logic I would recommend just first 10 episodes of SAO. You have to look at the full picture. One season of great reactions is not worth of later on couple of seasons of pure disappointment. We saw how it went with GOT and it had the PEAK of peak in its first 6 seasons. But by the end of season 8 it was literal torture. And I love got. But it was still difficult Now imagine the same experience but it’s just 12 episodes of high mid and everything else is even worse than season 8 of GOT. I do not want to witness geks go through that😂

Its demographic is clearly like young boys or something (i mean its the most shounen to ever shounen so that makes sense) but i super agree on some characters being straight up UNLIKABLE. Well lets be clear here, I wouldnt recommend them the 2nd season of tokyo ghoul or 7dS of season 3. or the 2nd season of Promised Neverland. Bcuz I know there bad even i didnt watch them.

You suggested one older anime lol the rest are not that. Also a lot of what you suggested has some of the worst drop offs in quality in anime history. Iron Blood Orphans is good and finished. 91 days was ok and berserk 97 is iconic but the sequel is awful. Tokyo Ghoul had a great first season, other seasons were shit. Neverland had a great first season, the second season was one of the worst seasons in anime history. Seven deadly sins had a fun first season, the seasons after dropped quality by about 5 points and became shit. Blue Exorcist had a good first season, and then took more than a decade for another season that completely undid every bit of character development that happened in the first season to be more accurate to manga but not actually show the accurate first season, so it's broken up. Seraph is ok at best with a good soundtrack. Drifters was ok, didnt really go anywhere. Goblin slayer was pretty decent but pretty brutal, still need to watch the next season. All in all, you recommended 1, maybe 2 good shows, with the rest having the worst sequel seasons in anime history. MHA is not bad. But it has some flaws. For me, it’s worse than Haikyuu. Which barely has any flaws including the ending. Since both series are complete and I’ve finished both of them. I can say that MHA is a fun ride but you can’t think too much about it. It’s highs are lower than Naruto’s or Haikyuu’s. but the main issue is characters. Some of them are simply unlikable. I criticize MHA a lot since it had a great potential but fumbled in a way that’s hard to explain without spoiling. It still CAN be enjoyable and entertaining though. I feel like each gek is gonna have a different opinion about it. P.S. be prepared it’s a bit childish

MHA hate is so old man 😭 as someone who's finished the manga & caught up with the show i feel like it's a really strong series, with some powerful themes and great music. Sometimes it's a little slower or the animation is lacking, like with many shows, but I generally think most people hate on it because a) the fandom sucks and b) it's a pretty true shonen. My best guess about it is that many things that came out around the same time fit a different mold (like csm or jjk), which deterred a lot of people from the classic shonen formula/series and made mha seem worse for fitting that. Tldr I guess is i get why some people don't like it, but broadly I think MHA is an over-hated series with a lot of really high highs, in addition to some lows of course. I think with how much yall liked haikyuu that you'll likely enjoy mha as well. ☺️ cheers
