Dobby shows up in the books quite often. He appears in 2,4,5,6, and 7. Also the books heavily downplayed the romances which is frustrating as book lover. Lavender came out of nowhere in the last movie which is funny cause she's always been a character. Harry and Ginny make so much sense, Cho was never gonna get over Cedric and played too many games she wasn't straight forward enough and Harry is quite daft at times. Harry and Hermione seem like they'd have the most boring relationship ever. In this regard even his friendships are heavily downplayed in the movies.

I definitely enjoyed part 2 better, but there are still parts of part 1 I like as well. It's funny how you recognize actors and actresses later on. I didn't even know Xeno was played by the same actor who played Otto. He looks so different with blond hair and mostly clean shaven. They definitely dropped the ball on the Harry/Ginny romance, but I also think the books could have done more with it. Cho was okay in the movies, but in the book she was so annoying and kept thinking Harry and Hermionie had a thing. I feel like the broadcasts played more of a role in the movie and they also ran into some other characters while in hiding, like Dean. I also, like the scene where Krum comes to wedding and Ron is all jealous and territorial. I'm excited and sad that after part 2 we will be done.

I understand that the scene can be interpreted as a good intention thing from Harry to make Hermione feel better, in an innocent, brotherly way. But overall I don't think WB did it for that reason, because there are so much other "changes" that IMO try to give a romantic implication that isn't anywhere in the source material: 1. The "perfume" thing (movie only) 2. The haircut scene (movie only) 3. Not showing that Hermione cried for weeks after Ron's was gone and that she barely talked to Harry out of resentment (intended or not). 4. The dance scene (cherry of the cake, movie only). 5. Skipping the "I love her like a sister" line. Of course Ron was insecure and jealous, very deep feelings he couldn't stand to have, but one thing was that and the other the ugly thing they did in the movie, again, because they thought a silly love triangle would drag more people into the cinemas.

No, harry knows there are seven from professor Slughorns memory. He specifically says “can u do it more than once… like seven?” meaning, killing 7 people and thus putting his soul into 7 objects rather than just 1. I think it’s also mentioned in HP6 between Dumbledore and Harry. So ive assumed they’ve always known it was 7 horcruxes, they just didn’t know what the seventh one was, nor did they really have the chance since by then the battle kinda already started so they can’t just be like “ok bye, we’re gonna look for the seventh one”. Harry was just legit ready to face voldie and die if necessary. Just lucky for him, voldie killed his own soul. I haven’t btw read books 4-7 yet so maybe its explained differently/more clearly in the books?

Fully agreed, that's why I hate this adaptation and I have "some" faith to the new one, even though it's WB again but with HBO involved maybe we get a different outcome. In the movie the Ron's horcrux destruction scene is treated lightly, like "oh I was jealous lets move on" but in fact Ron suffers a lot before and after destroying the locket, and of course Harry consoles him first supporting in silence and after with the beautiful "She's like my sister, I love her like a sister, I thought you knew". Movies treated Ron as a comic relief character giving his good moments to other characters, almost always Hermione.

I used to feel that way when I was younger but now I actually love that they don’t. You can tell that they love each other, but they are friends and their relationship is platonic. I think that’s something that’s rare in media nowadays, a boy and girl being friends and having love for each other without it being romantic. When they dance in the woods, it really is just Harry being there for a friend who is heartbroken and lonely.

ughh man i hate how the movies highlight all the ways ron shows negative feelings but thru out the whole movies they didnt highlight how brave he actually was they gave all his imp dialogues from books to hermione and even in this movie ron says you dont have a family to harry which ron never says in the books -movies fail to show us rons perspective a lot of times, he has a festering wound and is worried about his family and is worried that they are getting nowhere even after months of travelling(which the movie just shows us as changing locations but it doesnt exactly tell us how MUCH time has passed ) those feelings only get amplified by that locket and he lashes out, its not a good sight to see but atleast in the books we see where hes coming from but here it seems just out of nowhere and irrational

i loved the character moments in this movie. i know it moves a bit slower than the others but i genuinely didn’t mind it at all. letting the trio just sit amongst themselves & try to figure out what to do as they are still just kids, was a great choice. being with these characters for extended periods of time, really helped my understanding of each of them & their story. this movie is honestly in my top 3.

I'm one of the lucky ones who grew up reading the books and watched each movie in theaters as I grew up. My mom called me in sick for school and took me to the movie as a surprise, one of my cherished traditions with her. I did all the midnight showings for the last 4 movies. Felt like a cultural phenomenon. It's awesome that so many people can rewatch and get immersed in the magic again.

Epic off-screen death. It's kind of surprising that nobody present knew a spell or anything that could've helped Dobby. I know Snape is incredibly powerful, but he was able to cure Draco easily in the last movie. If only that could've been done for the Dobster.
