So, judging by their YouTube post, it looks like they won’t be releasing more episodes per week as we had hoped. But I don't understand how that post answered this particular question. Will there be another post answering this or should we take that youtube update as information on that as well?

2024-12-17 18:53:39 +0000 UTCThe posts above are solid advice. Though if you’re already at 113, I likely wouldn’t bother with One Pace-ing through the next 4 eps. One Pace titles their videos by manga chapters instead of anime episodes, so for first time OP watchers, it might be difficult for you to figure out which chapters you need to watch for eps 114-118. It would probably be easier/faster for you to abuse the fast forward button instead in the areas you find boring, it’s only 4 eps after all. The pacing def picks up after that and it’d be a shame to watch the rest of Alabasta one paced imo. The arc after Alabasta, is quite well paced so no need for One Pace there. As for Skypeia, I personally love that arc, though will admit it does suffer from pretty bad pacing, so even though I’m a One Pace hater, you can consider One Pace for it. It’s one of their more recent projects so has better editing than most of their other arcs 👀. It’s currently incomplete. I think it’s like 80% done, but the last 20% are my favorite parts so no worries there. Hope you continue to enjoy the show!

The pacing isn't bad, but it's slower compared to the previous arcs, so I was wondering if switching to the One Pace version would improve the experience. It's not a major issue or anything. Normally, I wouldn't ask this kind of question for other anime and would just watch it, even if it gets a bit slow at times. However, since I know there's a version with better pacing, I thought I'd ask for advice since you guys know best

2024-12-17 00:29:49 +0000 UTCto be honest i was able to fully catch up without one pace and i recommend you do not switch unless it is absolutely necessary. alabasta pacing, to me, is not bad and when i get annoyed i just fast-forward. if the pacing is bothering you just fast-forward through the slow parts because once you switch you probably will not go back. if you want to fully switch know there are certain scenes, like the nami scene at the end of arlong park, you will not see. which episode are you on?

2024-12-14 06:05:53 +0000 UTCIn terms of Arabasta vs Alabasta it doesn't really mater which you say. but the reason there is two is because the Japanese language doesn't have a separate sound for r (to keep it in simple terms). which often leads to multiples English spelling for the same word (i.e. alabasta and arabasta, Zoro and Zolo, and even luffys name has been translated to Ruffy in certain languages early on)

Their "R" sound makes like a sound combining RDL. why luffy sounds like duffy or ruffy. sometimes. It's why to this day shonen jumps translation has "Zolo" and not "Zoro". you'll notice it a lot once the glass has been broken.

2024-12-13 11:56:49 +0000 UTCAbout your question on why it’s spelled “arabasta” in the Japanese language there isn’t any hiragana (OG Japanese letters) for the letter “L” but their “R”s (Ra,Ri,Ru,Re,Ro) sound the most similar because they do a little roll of the tongue with the “Ra”. Kinda similar to Spanish. So when they say foreign words they use “R” but spelled for us it reads as “L” because we have that sound. I took a couple semesters of Japanese in college to get the basic understanding of the language structure and cadences.

After that, they meet again at the Straw Hat ship. Ace then burns the Baroque Works/Billions ship, just like in the anime. But then he leaves the crew and goes searching for Blackbeard. He never hears in the manga that there is information on Blackbeard in Yuba; he’s just in Alabasta to meet Luffy real quick. So he never goes with the crew to Yuba. I’m not hating or saying that it’s bad, just wanted you guys to know.

There’s also the toxicity of constant exposure to silver iodide and the legal status of ownership over clouds that gets tossed around. It’s very rare these days.

Some characters bounties are never revealed in the anime/manga. Instead they may be revealed in the SBS corner or in the live card databooks. An exhibition supervised by Oda had graphic art of the various wanted posters from the series plastered onto the walls. This is where Ace's was first revealed to the fandom. Ace's bounty does not appear in the manga.
