This arc was truly difficult to get through. Even three years ago, when I watched it for the first time while binge-watching, the terrible pacing stood out to me—something I somehow didn’t notice during the first arc. This one feels like the ultimate staring contest stretched across ten episodes. On the bright side, the pacing improves significantly after this arc. It’s only later in Shippuden that the endless flashbacks start to become frustrating again 🥲

Personally, I love Sasuke. I also don't feel like his relationship with Naruto was that one-sided. Starting from the moment when he risked his life to save Naruto when they were fighting against Zabuza and Haku, to his decision not to kill Naruto when he had the chance in that last fight in OG Naruto. However the fact remains that he is consumed by two very powerful emotions/ desires: grief over the loss of his entire clan, and revenge against his brother. I think I resonated with those two things so strongly that his motivations and actions are things I understand a little too well to think of them as wrong. In fact, if I was him, I'd hate the entire village since they clearly never cared to avenge his clan's demise. So when Sai says he betrayed the village, it occured to me that if I was Sasuke, I personally would feel like the village let me down instead. I know some people don't like how much Naruto and Sakura chase after Sasuke, but their relationship with him is one of my favorite things in the anime... I do however hate Kabuto lmao. So I vibe with Mckay on that. Wish yall had posted one more episode!!! The anime edged yall and you chose to edge us in return 😭

The legendary Seinen are called that for a reason lol Jiraiya, Orichimaru, and Tsunade are insanely strong. That's their whole thing. You'll get more about them later. But yeah the pacing for the beginning of Shippuden is abysmal. It's the sole factor on being tough to rewatch the show. I've already watched it a bunch of times, but the beginning is the toughest part. It's good, its just slow
