But he didn't know that Michael Kahnwald doesn't exist in this world, he can still be Hanna's husband. And it is 4th of November, so Mikkel can go back and become Michael. So it makes sense for him to ask Martha and look for his dad. The things he knew so far didn't exclude Michael not existing. To avoid the confusion, bearded Jonas is the one who escaped apocalypse with Magnus Bartozs Franceska, he is in 1888. Martha that saved Jonas from apocalypse is other world Marta of 2020 who came to other world same time to save Jonas from apocalypse, she takes him to another world and to one year before. Marta we see there is 2019 Martha without forehead scar, she will be the Martha that saves Jonas in one year. 2020 Martha took Jonas to 2019 her world and then went to Jonas's world to 1888 to help middle-aged bearded Jonas. Also notice how bearded Jonas was surprised to see another-world-Martha and didn't know she wasn't his Martha. That is important. It is frustrating to see this world, but just wait, it will deliver. It just feels like show starts from the beginning, but this world will make sense.

Also, they had to match everything up to fit the mirrior dimension so they printed out everything on the walls etc to be mirrored. Many things had to be changed so they could invert everything afterwards. I just love the attention to detail in this show.

He doesn't get to see what we as a viewer do. He was dropped in a new unfamiliar world by Martha and was told nothing about it. How do you expect him to navigate it in a composed manner and come to the conclusion that Mikkel doesn't go back in the past? The fact that he doesn't exist in this world does not imply that Mikkel won't travel to the past at all since time travel still exists in this world. He doesn't even know about almost any of the differences we get to see in the episode as a viewer. So his demeanor is perfectly reasonable over here in my opinion.

The one tip I could give you without spoiling anything is: don't overthink things! This season will make you try to overthink everything. That's not the way.
