2024-11-16 13:46:48 +0000 UTCUnpopular opinion but even back then when I first watched this show, Sang-woo was definitely my favorite character (after Gi-hun ofc)😭😭😭 To me, he isn't a black and white character - he's definitely complex and u can tell because at first, he was actually very helpful and caring towards other people. In the first game, he tried to encourage Gi-hun and tell him to keep moving or else he wouldn't make it. But he struggled early on with his morality by not telling Gi-hun what he thought the 2nd game could be. But, after they got back to the real world, he even helped Ali by giving him money despite being broke af himself --- and he did this without seeking any benefit or return at that point in time since he didnt know that he was going back to the games yet. Then you can see his gradual moral decay - but honestly in a game where they were oriented that only one person can win, why would you want to really play around as friends when you know that eventually you'd have to betray each other one way or another. So at that point, just play for your own survival --- but I guess you could play it out like Gi-hun who really wants to stick with a moral code somehow, although unrealistic.

The shows are addicting with compelling storylines, emotional depth, dynamic relationships, and good character buildup. I’ve binged quite a few and that does make complete sense. But I know for a fact I wouldn’t last in Squid Game. I would get way too scared and freeze up. I’m a wimp haha

I mean I probably wouldn’t have watched it past Ali’s brutal death if it wasn’t in this channel. I watched that ep very late at night and was struggling to get any sleep. Sheesh, some of these Korean series and movies are brutal beyond comparison.

They have marine police, which is very prestigious as well. From what I read, there are not many white actors who can speak English in Korea for these VIP roles, so they hired just random white wannabe actors, that's why it is not good. And I heard from one Korean streamer that the way they talk is the way some Koreans think Americans talk, like stereotypically. Like they were told to play rich weird foreigner. This is how they think weird foreigners would talk I guess. If there are any Koreans here, please feel free to correct me. This is what I heard from Korean Streamer. But nonetheless it was super cringe. Also why Front-man talking in English with accent is funny? Do you think everyone speaks perfect English. If I was there, I would sit on the glass and try to break the glass in front of me with my legs.
