Carter can't handle it lol

Comments

legit, I was asking a couple episodes ago if that's even genetically possible because it seemed like they were hinting at it with the Noah and Charlotte relationship. I just kind of have to suspend disbelief for that one.

Gobbo

Carter scream almost killed me in the start of the ep that shit was loud af lmao

Chakra

For me Charlotte/Elizabeth daughter-mother thing was the crazies part of this season 🙈

Vlad Lena

Wow! I also had never realize that 😱

Let me educate you what people consider "spoilers nowadays." Talking about things in someone's comment section while they haven't finished watching it is considered "spoilers nowadays." There u go its that simple

Idk man it's like they don't get doing that doing this type of shit is spoilers

The last time older and younger Noah speak is in the hall at Sic Mundus HQ is as young Noah is on his way to travel to 2020 and older Noah has returned to kill Adam. Older Noah's advice: "If you knew what I know now, you wouldn’t do what you must, which enables me to get to this moment." The majority of the actions characters take can be understood by focusing on and keeping in mind what each character KNOWS at each point in time/event, regardless of whether its accurate or not. This can be hard to keep track of sometimes because of the nature of the show, admittedly. This ties right in with what Adam said in one of his earlier monologues about people are able to make their own choices, but a persons desires (which can be informed by their relationships, by their current knowledge, etc.) often will heavily influence what a persons choices are. Older Noah tells young Noah this because he believes that everything must occur as it has for this moment they are in to occur, where Noah is on his way to kill Adam, believing he will succeed in this. So younger Noah continues on with his actions, being told by older Noah that they must happen. It is only after young Noah has already left, that older Noah, in his final moments, becomes aware that things do not play out as he expected, which effectively bookends his time in the cycle. To put it simply, this younger version of Noah (who very much believes in this Paradise goal, the ultimate goal which all other actions can be justified by) does not find out the fate of his older self until he experiences it himself, which is already far too late.

Many episodes in this show focus on a specific theme or a specific bit of knowledge that is being delivered either to the characters, to the audience of the show, or both, and a big theme of this one is that characters are "nudging" other characters in certain ways to ensure a certain path is followed. Young Noah with Marthas letter to Stranger Jonas. Older Claudia, in their year away, informing Jonas of a bunch of information, which leads him to direct the younger Claudia on her path this episode. Adam "creating himself" by killing Martha, Adam using his paradise/endgame goal to influence Noah along his path. Noah trying to get to his younger self to this point where he's about to confront Adam, and so on.

Euphemia Isobel

Why even mention any details of season 3 before they watch it lol. some people just can't help themselves to push their opinions onto other people i guess.

Brett

Patiently waiting 👉👈

Euphemia Isobel

Old noah had the papers that he used to confront Adam. That's probably the info he shared with young noah before sending him back.

Brett

@Dio While you're at it then feel free to make a grand circle of agreement amongst yourselves and mindfully chant further into the universe about it.

Mysterious Figure

Good summary

Joel

I think we would all agree you should be the one reevaluating your state of mind. Good luck with that!

Dio

I am honestly baffled at what people will consider spoilers nowadays. All of you that consider anything in my comment a spoiler should reevaluate your own state of mind.

Mysterious Figure

Dark is also in my top 3 along with Attack on Titan and Breaking Bad. The shows mentioned above I might have enjoyed more to some extent, but there is no show or movie out there that I objectively respect more. It's just so beautifully crafted, and even getting to understand it fully and in all its aspects gave me satisfaction like nothing else. It truly felt like an achievement. Truly a piece of marvel.

DARK EXPERT

True

BlueSmurf

He says “you” will betray me, could mean Jonas at any age

Euphemia Isobel

My all time favorite show is actually breaking bad but dark is 2nd and most thought provoking

Euphemia Isobel

Damn. It looks like you are a bigger fan than I am. Which I didn't think was possible. But totally understandable.

DARK EXPERT

I think Noah does know that Adam betrays him, doesnt he say that to bearded Jonas?

BlueSmurf

When I’m stuck at my office this show is what I think about 90% of the time 😭

Euphemia Isobel

Man this show is so good.. I kinda felt a multiverse thing might happen and I can't wait to see what they do with it!

Brittany (Ultraanimegirl4)

Damn you are literally everywhere in the comment section. Everytime. It almost feels like this is the only thing you think about during your whole day lol.😂

DARK EXPERT

Also now that you know who Noah's wife is, it makes the scene where Noah first appears in the woods and meets Yasin in the woods more interesting, because before he kidnaps him he's like "Oh, so you're Yasin?" who you might remember is who Elizabeth (his wife) currently says is her boyfriend. So he's literally taking out the competition.

Nick K

Dark is forever in my top 3 greatest shows of all time, all I will say is you will not be disappointed by season 3 at all! Every rewatch has me noticing new details, the writers are truly genius

Whitney

Wake up everybody it’s PREMIERE day

Euphemia Isobel

why do people do this.

SuddenImpulse

Studio Gek PLEASE do not read this.

SuddenImpulse

Its understandable its a bit mind-bending because humans don't deal with the concept of time very well and it can get complicated, especially when theres like paradoxes (like how the suitcase time machine or the book the clock maker writes are boostrap paradox items) but the show was essentially reiterating the theme of why the gun would not work for Noah in this episode, and it also went into this a bit in that prior episode where Jonas tried to prevent his father from unexisting himself. Adam has to survive Noahs assassination attempt because he goes on to time travel to murder Martha, which Adam says in that scene is the trigger that causes Jonas to go down the path to become Adam. If Adam is shot by Noah, he cannot later go on to kill Martha, and thus Adam, the Adam Noah wants to kill, no longer exists for Noah to shoot. These events in time have already been created, so Noah cannot undo them. Similarly Jonas told Katherina that she can attempt to bring Mikkel back to the present, but she will fail, because Jonas exists. To put it simply, its already written. If you want to think about it more deeply, how would Katherina go save Mikkel if Jonas doesn't exist? Stranger Jonas is the reason she even knows about all this. Stranger Jonas brought the suitcase machine. Jonas reopened the time tunnel, and as we found out in a recent episode, it was Jonas that showed Mikkel the way through the tunnel. This is why Noah cannot fire the gun on Adam, but Agnes can fire the gun on Noah. Adult Noah does not have a future, so his part of the cycle is over when Agnes uses it on him. All of this works within the viewpoints of the two "big" timetravelers, Claudia and Adam. Jonas was told by Adam that time is cruel and "god". Adam believes that there is no way to end these constant cycles unless he destroys time (God) itself, as he said when they met, however he plans to do this. Jonas says Claudia told him that she is of the belief that there must be some kind of change that can be made, that will allow for this cycle to be broken. Both sides believe they are right and the other is wrong, so will be interesting to see what the truth of it all is.

SuddenImpulse

I 100% am with you guys on the multiverse type concerns, but honestly, most time travel media messes things up because they don't follow their own established rules or get lazy with it at some point (Marvel). Do not worry, do not stress. Just enjoy the ride, have faith in the creators. I can confidently say they do this well. There is a reason the last few episodes of the show, including the finale, all have rather high ratings and this show doesn't have had a reputation for a bad ending. They pulled it off. I've seen most of the famous/noteworthy time travel shows and movies out there, and this show is the best of it imho. I think it helped a lot that the 2 creators of this show planned out a lot of the story before they even filmed the first episode, so they made sure it was all logically sound and made sense ahead of time, whereas vast majority of media they don't plan things out in advance to this same extent, or worse, a lot of shows don't even know how many seasons they will get. These showrunners brainstormed this story for quite a long time before they started filming this, and it paid off.

SuddenImpulse

would be pointless anyway. Adam is a grown man with a gun. All he has to do with push him away and shoot her.

SuddenImpulse

McKay, Say sum to me please.

Vik Mar

Not this again, people did this with GOT and it was toxic and spoilery. Hopefully doesn't end up being like GOT comment section

Vik Mar

i think jonas didn’t step in front of martha in that scene because he thought he was the one in danger. in his mind, and the viewers until that very moment, we all linked her death to the apocalypse-power plant meltdown because her grave was among the other victims in the future. jonas likely thought adam was going to kill him because he was deviating from his set path to become him, not knowing that young jonas’s every move was already written

Vik Mar

I think the thing he’s tweaking about most people knew already by now 😭 I don’t even remember it not being widely known at this point

Euphemia Isobel

Does it though? I'm usually against comments warning people, but I didn't say what exactly it is or what to look out for. It's to warn them about looking at something that could take away from their experience. My comment doesn't spoil anything except the fact that things happen in a show. (As I said in my original comment, I've seen many people online and know some in real life that really regret it and wish they were warned beforehand.)

roonil

what an episode, goated television, edge of your seat the entire episode, season 2 for me is the best season, but season 3 does not disappoint, goated series, and i hope it gets solidified in atleast everyones top 3

Caleb

We Dark stans have come a long way from losing the poll to Shogun 😭

Cracked out Carter tweaking for his next hit was thoroughly enjoyable lmao

imagine carter waiting a year for the new season 😂 also dark is the reason i dislike time travel/multiverse shows because it cant be better than this you can say it's a 9/10 show but in his category it's easily a 10/10

Renek

Fought hard for Dark and Haikyuu in vain for so long. Glad both shows are cookin rn.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Even after all you’ve seen, you still don’t know how this game is played.

Derek Whittom

To clarify Young Jonas is now 1 year older than all the other kids, having been sent back to June 2019 (86/53/20 if using 33 year machine/tunnel), he went with Claudia and has had to wait an entire year between episode 6 and 7. I love this detail with the 33 year cycle and how Jonas was "Off- Cycle" Because of the particle jump, and had to wait a year to sync back up with what should be his present day within the 33 year cycle.

The night is Dank and full of Memers

I need 3x1 tomorrow guys don’t make me wait 2 weeks 😂

Bri-Ana Monique

Euphemia Isobel

Wow 👀👀

For real

Dio

Same for me season 3 was by far the best, the montages in 6,7 and 8 are chills

Euphemia Isobel

By the end of season 3 all you'l want to do is start it over again, the show is just better and better every rewatch you see something new. It's the opposite of GoT, GoT was amazing but the ending makes you not want to go through it again, this show the ending is perfection and it makes you want to relive the journey over and over

Euphemia Isobel

side note: I told yall on twitch that I sent something the PO Box but not everything has arrived so maybe wait till Friday when it all comes before opening okay that’s all😊😂

Nomaan

This is literally one of the best, if not the best outro discussion in Studio Geek history.

Marlon Douglas

Only 8 episodes left is crazy. Ngl I was a Dark hater in the polls but as long as season 3 keeps cooking this will easily be a top 3 show for me. Big thanks everybody who recommended this!

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

Also hopefully the Geks don't read this. Kinda seems like a comment meant for the end of Season 3. has spoilers in it

Dio

Respect your opinion, but I didn't feel this way at all. Season 3 cooked the hardest for me

Dio

love that nickname for Noah

S Moonchild

If you go back to earlier episodes and check Elizabeth/Charlotte interaction you can see them both acting like moms with each other. When Charlotte took the camera footage from road camera, Elizabeth started scolding her like a mom, like stealing is bad and stuff. Charlotte then start talking as if to her mom, saying it is temporary. Like Elizabeth acted bossy, which foreshadows them being each other's mom. Also from biology, how Elizabeth+Noah = create Charlotte, Charlotte + Peter = create Elizabeth. Basically Peter's half of dna(z) + Charlotte's half of dna (x) creates Elizabeth(xz). And then Elizabeth gives Charlotte the same X dna she got from her and Noah's dna (w) creates new person. Idk why I was thinking about it. It just funny that they share same half of DNA they get from each other every cycle and their dads' dna is what makes them not the same person. They are also kinda half sibling, because of shared DNA. Plus they are their own grandmas lol. Now you understand why middle aged Jonas always looks at that part of the floor, that's where Martha dies. Also the reason Jonas didn't got to house where he knows Martha dies is because he thinks he changed something by locking Martha in the basement and then receiving a "letter" from Martha. He thinks he did change past and Martha now exists. I always hated multi-verse, but I enjoyed it here. Marvel uses it for fanservice, Dark uses it to create masterpiece haha. Brig was cooking up this episode

S Moonchild

The multiverse aspect of the third season greatly diminished my appreciation for the show, but it redeemed itself completely at the final episode for me. However, despite the final episode tying up everything so well, I still really dislike the third season a lot. It is so filled with straight up exposition upon exposition to the point of it feeling like Im being told the story in sentences from each character instead of being shown the story as it happens. And to add to that, a lot of the scenes in the last season are so needlessly drawn out, with LOOONG pauses of silence, looong gazes into nothingness etc., without this drama adding anything of value or accomplishing what it seemed it was trying to do. It felt like a slog for me to suffer through most of the third season, as I was so tired of the "other world" characters since we as the viewer never really got much time to establish a connection to their particular stories or points of view as compared to the characters from the first two seasons. So it feels like a big imbalance between how much attention the "two worlds" got. Overall, I don't think the third season ruined the show for me, but only thanks to the ending that tied everything up so well.

Mysterious Figure

can you guys watch "From" its horror. I think you'll like it!

accomplice

Season 3 is wild yall not ready at all

Marwan

Carter, once the reveal about Bartosz comes up, please confirm if that's what you believed it was or if it's different from what you thought. I was as curious to know what you felt you knew as I am to watch y'all check out season 3.

Rayanh LaNansha

Also, what my boy Bartosz gotta do to get some love man. His only plot points so far are having his girl stolen by his best friend; getting gaslit by aura incarnate and having his other friends tie him up and leave him in a cave.

Ante

Please trust the writers, this is not other shows or movies, this is not Game of Thrones! The highest rated episodes of the show are the last 2 episodes of the show:)

Euphemia Isobel

Ah understood, thanks for clarifying!

Dio

were cooking with gas now. wow.

Ante

The gun didn't jam, the safety was on. You can see Agnes turn the safety off before shooting Noah.

Euphemia Isobel

I promise you guys understand everything you're supposed to at this point, everything will be answered by the end:)

Euphemia Isobel

squid or gc drop today would made me lose my childs birth

Lucas Chaves

So excited for season 3, there's like 3 or 4 straight 10's

Euphemia Isobel

I remember when I watched this ep the possibility of multiverse stuff took so much air out of my sails. I was OBSESSED with solving the 'can you change time' problem within the current rules of Dark. Looking forward to S3.

Ante

“How does bearded Jonas not know to go to the house?” He did know, and he WAS at the house. Haha. Why do you think he went back and waited with a gun even after putting Martha in the bunker by force? It’s because he knew Adam would still be on his way there to kill her. What made him leave was the letter that Young Noah gave him and him telling Adult Jonas that he needed to save Magnus, Bartosz, and Franziska.

Mason Schutz

Yeah it was our initial reaction we just had a family emergency in the middle of filming that day and the rest of the day was just kinda whack. We went back and rewatched it the next day and wished we just filmed it then.

Studio Geck

Maaan, Carter is completely zoned out in the outro (1:06:12)

Juanca

that makes such much sense and I never thought of it either! Thanks for sharing

Max Kranabetter

You do realize comments like this spoil much more than it would have just them watching normally.

Vik Mar

It's gonna be so interesting to see you guys cooking during season 3 with all the timelines and different universes. It gets so confusing at times, but it all makes sense, it's so well tied up it's insane to think how they came up with it without leaving lose ends. Let the cooking 3.0 begin!

Junior

Sorry

Zechree

Ima buss

Zechree

Vik Mar

One of you cooked really really hard and it came out cheffskiss. But I wont tell who :D

Yuion

Upon my first watch of this show I stopped after this episode. Really didn’t like how they brought in that whole multiverse thing. But fast forward years later and you start watching the show so i decided rewatch and finish it, honestly I wasn’t psyched at first when I did but it eventually makes sense and I’m glad I watched the last season

John

So about the Adam and Noah scene. I'm pretty sure the gun kept jamming every time he tried to shoot Adam is because Adam exists in the future its simply impossible to kill him in that moment. So the moment Agnes took the gun it worked because Noah was supposed to die there. This is all because its a closed loop and everything that happens is supposed to happen so things like decision based time line branches aren't a thing.

Garlic

Please oh please bless us with a double Dark upload. I can't wait this much for Dark

Nanashi

When Cannon said you guys accidentally watched the Adam reveal and then had to rewatch, was your reaction that was recorded the initial reaction or no…? just curious

Dio

If I was watching this today I'd be reaaaaally skeptical about introducing a multiverse.

Nanashi

An episode of Dark when its still light out? It truly is the Apocalypse.

Choosing between watching Dark or Haikyu first feels like choosing the order of Barbie and Oppenheimer all over again #FirstWorldProblems

All I’m going to say is that this show cooks on cosmic levels. One of the few shows who respects and trusts its audience. Y’all are in for a ride in season 3 guys. Also yeah old Jonas constantly looking at the spot Marta died top tier writing. Such high rematch value

Jude G

I dont want them spoiled by you answering but I'm very curious what you're talking about

Dio

GEKS TRUST THE PROCESS, SEASON 3 COOKS AND HAS SOME OF THE BEST EPISODES

Dio

roonil

On my first watch I was really confused by what Adam meant when he said "You can try to save her or stop me. You'll know what to do." because I thought Adam meant right now, in this moment, Jonas could try to stop Adam or try to save Martha. But what he was really doing was setting up Jonas to lock Martha up in the bunker and have Jonas wait in his house with the gun drawn for Adam to appear, but instead Noah walks in.

roonil

I don't get the hate for Bartosz. He's a little clingy in the early episodes of season 1 and he pushes Franziska, but that's about all I noticed. I think Martha Mk I is the character I find the most annoying.
