Which is why he is so bitter, I guess he convinced himself that it is impossible so now that he is seeing that it might be possible it surprises him as well as makes him a bit angry He wasted all his life stuck in that restriction of height. That made Hinata be in the back at the beginning of the match, and whenever he is in the back, Noya is playing instead. Karasuno was not able to score for a lot of points while Ushijima was serving so that made the team not rotate, everyone was on the same position during all those points, so Hinata didn't have a chance to go in. (A team can only rotate 1 position after scoring a point while the other team is serving). Also, liberos can't attack in the situation Noya was while setting, if he were to do a dump it will be a point for the other team as that is a fault.

2024-11-13 17:13:47 +0000 UTCThe way Cannon and Mckay hate on Tendo brings me back to my first watch. Every time Tendo would talk I would want to skip it, groaning about him being an obnoxious clown. I can't really explain what changed it, but now I grin whenever Tendo's up to something. It might be an appreciation of how straight forward he is. Everyone calls him a monster, so he acts like one. Then there's such a stark difference in his personality when he's talking to Ushiwaka - he becomes just so pure and simple. He's truly interested in Ushijima's story, there's not a drop of malice. It's amazing really - when monsters make friends.

Because of this families would force left handed children to use their right hand. There's a lot of issues with this as it can hinder a child's physical and even cognitive development (because they aren't being allowed to follow their natural development like other children. This stopped being the case 20-30 years ago so it doesn't really happen as much now.

Sadly Tanaka Kazunari (Ukai's VA) suddenly passed away from an intracerebral hemorrhage after the recording of episode 8. knowing that his last ever line was "DON'T YOU DARE LOOK DOWN! VOLLEYBALL IS A SPORT WHERE YOU'RE ALWAYS LOOKING UP!" just makes it all the more beautiful and powerful.

When he hit it, it went a little more to the side rather than directly into the block, which most likely caught Tsukki's pinky and tore the webbing between his ring finger and his pinky on his right hand. That's most likely where the blood came from. Also, there's a bit of a translation issue during that point iirc, it's not that the point was overruled because the ball only hit the line a little bit and didn't count as out. The gesture that the referee makes (showing his palm up with his other hand brushing against the tips of his fingers on the exposed palm) is used to signal that the ball was touched by the player before it went out of bounds. So the reason Shiratorizawa got the point is because the ball went out (which the people at the end line called with the flag) but was touched by Tsukki's finger before it went out (it's how he even got that cut in the first place). So according to the rules, if you touch a ball that was spiked and it goes out, it's the opposing team's point. Hope this helps!!

It feels like they're a found family, just like Karasuno. Ushijima may come off as bland, and Tendou may be too weird to others, but I love that they play off each other as a pair so well. One is pretty straightforward and blunt, and the other is playful and eccentric, but they have such a wholesome relationship even within the team, and ofc, the team supports them regardless of how unusual they might act or be. It's heartwarming to see! And ofc, how could we forget about Coach Ukai's iconic line. "Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up!" is literally one of the last lines this amazing VA had before he passed away. Everyone in the fandom misses him tbh. More symbolism from Shiratorizawa's coach! The flashback perfectly captures his reason for sticking to the principle "Simple is best" when picking his players. He's living vicariously through his students rn, because he experienced what it was like to be considered as inferior to the taller players despite being just as good skill wise. And when he looks over at Hinata, it's pretty obvious that he sees himself in him. But unlike Hinata, who sought to fight with his limited height and find other ways to overcome that disadvantage, Shiratorizawa's coach decided to give up on being a player and forged his path as a coach. They are technically parallels of each other, and I love Furudate's subtle comparisons between the two of them. It's impeccable, and this isn't the last of it!

He may not good at words like our Takeda sensei or Captain Daichi, but he's great. He trained everyone without receiving anything in return. His busy schedule never hinders the practice with our team. I also love Hinata's near received. The court and cheerleaders literally stopped because they were shookt. Tsukki's coming back with that backgound sound is so good too! these moments are my favorite <3

That's how it works in his head. So, now Hinata appeared in front of him.
