The way Sakura kept staying under the steel blocks as they were trying to smash her into pieces showed she was too scared to move IF she was fully in control but the way her waist was pulled back as her arms and legs were up in the air looked like Granny kept moving her out of the way. Now whether it was for one or another legitimate reason, sadly is not the issue. The issue is that she was Grannys puppet and to me it seemed she left the control to Granny as she had more experience. I stated in my previous comment she was in charge of her chakra to punch BUT the "quick?" Movements did not seem all her. In the end she punched Sasori of her own free will which was great for her character but if we are taking this character a bit more personal than just for fun, why didn't she think of something else when Granny was trying to protect them both with one puppet left. Even blowing herself up to death after granny fought so hard to keep her alive is honestly brave but extra dumb. Many don't seem to like Naruto because they ask the same questions of every character, just don't understand this obsession with defending Sakura specifically, just because she's a girl?

& then regarding Sasori going in with the puppet to kill Sakura, there was no way he would've assumed that this random 15/16 year old girl had an antidote for his new poison that had never been cured allowing her to move. I agree of course that Sasori should have just expended a little more chakra and used some iron sand & don't think that was the best way Kishimito could have gone about destroying the puppet of the third kazekage but it's already heavily shown that Sasori is an impatient & arrogant man who hates being kept waiting so it's not entirely out of his character to make a decision like that

Just finished watching the entire reaction cause I watched it bit by bit throughout the week but regarding Sasori not using the iron sand to its full capability just comes down to the fact that he simply can't, think the viewer has to assume his versatility with the iron sand is not near the level of the third kazekage & Gaara because 1. It's not his inherit ability & 2. controlling that specific jitsu non-directly via chakra strings makes it that much harder for him to wield the sand as compared to if it was his own body. It would have been better if that was fleshed out or implied, even a simple line from Sasori or Chiyo saying that he doesn't have much versatility with the iron said compared to Gaara & the third but I think we just have to assume that as the audience. If Sasori were to make human puppets out of other akatsuki members or powerful ninja, I think it's fair to say that his puppet version wouldn't be able to use the specific justus/technique as well as the actual ninja so it's just the same case with the the iron sand ability.

@Ayaulym Mikasa was obsessed with Eren, Ymir was obsessed with her abuser for like two thousands years, Pieck tbh I don't remember her having any good moments, Gabi is a good written character but not likeable at all. Historia was a really interesting character but all of a sudden her relevancy to the story ended after she got together with that farmer boy, which was very dissapointing. Tsunade, Chiyo, Temari and Ino easily clears these aot characters when it comes to writing and since your issue is with female characters revolving around men, these naruto characters I mentioned has so many good moments that doesn't have anything to do with romance.

Yup. I’m all for criticising mindfully, logically and respectfully. However forced hate on a character mainly based on her childhood character, nitpicking details (which for other characters that are considered favourite would’ve not happened) to justify said hate and using harsh language is weird to me. I love Sakura and I could write why in depth, but I believe it’s worthless. People don’t like to change their opinion even when presented with facts. That’s just life.

All this talk of skipping and fomo and getting the real experience, just makes me have to compare to the One Piece v One Pace argument. There are two reasons One Pace exists: 1-way later in the series there are genuine pacing issues but a regular viewer can honestly correct these just by skipping ahead as they see fit, and 2-fans of the series bothered to make it. Naruto at times is just as bad if not worse than the worst pacing in One Piece, but there just isn't a fan edit that pre-trims out parts. This has nothing to do with what you think is better, just pointing out that the existence of a fan made One Piece edit when one doesn't exist for Naruto makes people assume the pacing in Naruto is always better, and then you end up watching full episodes of suffering of Naruto while skipping actually worthwhile content in One Pace.

Little comment recap for anyone who doesn't want to read : - First wave of commenters mainly wrote about how they thought the Sakura hate was too much -Second wave clowned the first wave for this -Some girl threatened to unsubscribe, but proceeded to get ratiod on this 💀 -Some people complained about the pacing agreeing with the Geks - Other commenters pointed out the logic behind Sasori's moves, mainly that he got cocky, and that there was no way for him to know Sakura had the antidote. - Brig said he was disappointed in us (sorry Brig) - Fun fact! Pacing is much better in the manga of course, Some arcs of Naruto certainly need a remake but these earlier episodes in Shippuden not being the best doesn’t have much to do with Kishimito’s writing but instead budgeting costs, studio Pierrot dragging out episodes etc etc.

This arc is a perfect example of why I don't consider Naruto the GOAT. Don't get me wrong I LOVE this show, but there's so much wrong with it, with this arc showcasing it's faults to the fullest. The horrible pacing with all the repeated lines and pointless scenes across all the fights, the not even subtle repetitive animations, and you guys pointed out all the complaints I have always had with the Sasori fight. Of course its had it's good moments too, but rewatching it now I find all those faults to be even more egregious than I remember. But it's good to see you all are still enjoying it and having a good time, and at least everything starts getting better literally the next episode on. Also, I usually stay out of the drama, but calling Jack or any of you misogynists is laughable, even moreso that it's over Sakura 'hate' XD . It's obviously not true, and I'm sorry you have to deal with small-minded people who throw the "-ist" labels around.

one thing i like about the show so far is that it shows how war trauma affects children and they end up becoming absolute menaces later on in their lives. gaara had the one tailed sealed into him to be a weapon of war. sasori’s parents died in the war between sand and leaf. i think it’s realistic and i appreciate that backstory from sasori

Some people think the Sakura slander up to this point in the show is justified, some think it’s a bit forced & some others feel indifferent about it, It’s not that deep. Most opinions in the comment section were expressed respectfully & there were only a couple comments that were pretty hostile yet it seems everything has been blown out of proportion since the majority of other comments are in response/referring to those initial ones. I think Sakura represents us, the audience, useless and utterly at the mercy of powerful forces in this shinobi world but at the same time is awe inspiring and motivates us to do better for the people we love. Shes written perfectly flawed as most of the viewers are male-orientated so putting us in a womans body and identity helps us become more vulnerable and empathetic to the situations at play. Thats why we Sakura becomes a nurse through the motherly compassion most men are nurtured by and heal people not through violence of masculinity but healing and support of the feminine spirit. Sakura sucks for a reason and its beautiful when you actually think about the mind of the creator!

It seems like you’re personally affected as you personally came out to speak on behalf of the Sakura fan base. Clearly you are bothered and it also seems to me you’re just contradicting yourself constantly without really setting a baseline on what you really wanna say. Anyway, my only gripe with people who can't stop hating Sakura because of who she was when she was 12 is exactly that: she was 12 years old. She was clearly only into becoming a Ninja because it was the cool thing to do. Even when they spoke about what their objectives were, hers, in comparison to Sasuke and Naruto's, lacked any depth. All she cared about was to be near the boy she was in love with. So criticizing a 16 year old for who she was as a 12 year old remains the weirdest thing to me when it comes to Naruto watchers hating Sakura. All that aside though, it's fun to watch you guys make fun of that as you watch the anime. It makes light of Jack's hate for her so it's cool in that sense. Really enjoyed this one.

I didn't intend to come out like that. I pointed out that I am a woman because I knew people would immediately assume I am a man based on my comment and jump to call me an incel or smth like that. I absolutely do not think that I am an only woman who thinks like that, in fact, the majority of women Ik irl dislike Sakura (in a way that i don't think I am unique). I also pointed out my gender because this conversation was about misoginy that geks are accused of and as a woman i think my opinion on whether their dislike for Sakura is valid or not should be taken into account. I praised the dude for his video because of how objectively well done it was. Usually men tend to be blind towards misogyny and poor writing and just straight up hate the character without nuance. the fact that even dudes notice the problem shows how blatant and obvious it is. Thus saying if he noticed that then it should be 5 times easier for fellow women to see the problem. I find what you said about 'finding issues in the world' quite interesting and kind of truthful. I dislike most of the female characters in Naruto for the way some of them are sexulised and issues I mentioned in previous comments. It's not that hard to write women as people just like male characters who have goals and complex feelings and different personalities and I hate that Kishimoto failed so hard. And the Sakura and Hinata are the best and most clear examples of that so I tend to shift the conversation to them. Living in a world where some men disrespect women and consider them weak both mentally and physically characters like them do not help at all. They are the representation of women after all too (even though in the fictional world) About other poorly written characters in Naruto who are male. I do agree that there are plenty of them. It's just most of the main ones are still extremely compelling, even while not being good people. Most of them have intresting personalitoes, views and are pretty strong ninjas. Those who are really bad are backgrund characters usually. Moreover, since Sakura one of THE main characters in theory she should be just as interesting as Naruto and Sasuke but she just genuinely lacks the complexity. Even shikamaru and akastuki members come out as more interesting and compelling than her despite NOT being a main character. Generally I criticise Naruto a lot for plot holes and inconsistency. I dislike the ending, almost all romantic plotlines and the constant lack of logic in the world building. Just so yk that I recognise that the show has many issues. Overall, I think we came into some understanding and cam agree to disagree on some points))

They were mainly talking about him using the iron sand to confirm the kill rather than flying the puppet at her, which I personally agree with as using the puppet is a huge risk and the sand is a great ability that could easily do the job. Yes Mikasa's arc revolves around Eren but you know what is her saving grace? She is the only character like that. Every other female character on aot has a different personality and goal. Addressing Sasori's IQ.. You as a viewer KNOW that Sakura has an antidote designed specifically to counteract Sasori's poison and that she's one of the main characters in the show and thus can't die here. From Sasori's POV, she was just poisoned by his deadliest poison and can't move. How on earth was he supposed to know she treated Kankuro and had the antidote?? My man Sasori is strong and arrogant, that much was established from the very beginning. Sakura would've died there if he didn't spare Kankuro, again out of arrogance. I think it makes perfect sense for his character to underestimate his opponents, while the comments at the end about how the viewers could guess what was going to happen before Sasori, didn't make as much sense

I think what makes it worst is the constant defending of her character based on the manga rather than the show itself. If they start telling reactors how to react rather than just give it time then many would get annoyed, i would. The amount of arguing in the comment sections is going to ruin the reputation of this anime on the channel. A mix of Naruto defenders fighting for their lives because someone doesn't understand their favorite character within the first "20" episodes. And people who can't just sit back and let the anime cook. I've never seen this for any other show. What's even worse are the fans who've finished the show, remember it by its peaks, and then trash the beginning of the anime because they compare it to their favorite moments. I think it's the opposite. I rewatched a couple months back and it was even better than my first watch. It helped that I could binge through these slow episodes but go watch an episode like 345 and tell me this anime doesn't hold up over time. Objectively one of the greatest animes.

Just to clarify to Carter around 18:45, ppl know about Tsunade but they don't exactly know what she looks like, i believe Jiraya mentions what her give away is to find her. Plus remember Granny never wanted anything to do with the leaf so who knows if she met her. She's a war legend from long time ago so they know she's old now but her special ability to change her appearance is not broadcasted, especially since she had not even been in the leaf for who knows how long, nobody knew. That's why it's shocking for Granny to see her grandson has not changed.

It’s ironic to mention the women of Attack on Titan when the main heroine's entire character revolves around Eren. This focus doesn’t diminish Mikasa as a well-written character, just as it doesn’t diminish Sakura. I love Mikasa, and Attack on Titan is my second favorite anime. It’s frustrating to see comparisons that undermine the importance of love in these stories. this is Shippuden, not OG Naruto. The entire point is Sakura doesn’t come from a kekkai genkai family like Sasuke or have a special power like Naruto, she was just an average genin. But she recognized her weakness in constantly depending on them AND TRAINED HER ASS OF WITH TSUNADE FOR THREE YEARS to make up for it, and she’s done more in the last 24 episodes than any other character on screen, and yet she still gets hate instead of recognition for her growth. I understand that some people might not like Sakura, but Hinata? She has one of the best moments in the entire series. She shows incredible bravery, knowing she will die but still choosing to fight. That kind of courage—being scared yet pushing forward to protect the people you love—is truly remarkable. Because of that scene alone, it's hard to label her as a poorly written female character. As for Sakura, she also has her moments that highlight her selflessness, proving she doesn’t deserve the harsh criticism she often receives. While she can be a bit annoying at times but I think she’s one of the most realistic characters in the show.

Sakura isn't self-aware enough. She always looked down on Naruto in og despite him saving her ass and her doing literally nothing. Saying "Oh I am a bit behind of Sasuke and Naruto" is not enough. I think it might seem like Sasori has a low IQ, but that’s just how anime often portrays things. It never appeared that way to me. For example, after being poisoned, Sakura shouldn’t have been able to get back up. As anime watchers, we know she can’t die like that and will find a way out of it. Sasori, however, isn’t aware of these typical anime tropes. Her ability to move after being poisoned is practically a miracle, which is why he decided to attack. I thought by now you would finally appreciate this anime. It’s disappointing to hear Carter say that nothing significant happened when we actually had great fights and cool character development. I’m starting to lose hope that they’ll ever come to like this show. If even the upcoming amazing scenes in the next arcs get this kind of treatment, it seems like this anime just isn’t for you. 🤷

Another thing is sakura is nowhere near the same character especially if u compare her to the beginning of the show. Flashback/training could help but I still believe the message is still clear. As for Sasori using his puppet to finish off Sakura, yeah you could say it was dumb of his part but like it's the classic overconfident villain troup. Both sasori and deidara are arrogant individuals (with deidara only bringing a small amount of clay to take down gaara thinking it was all that he needed) and sasori not killing kankuro believing that nobody will cure his poison. Throughout the fight Sasori was always degrading both chiyo and sakura always calling her a lil girl or chick he had no respect for them. The troupe is cliche sure but its been established how overly confident both these guys are. Regardless still a peak reaction. Can’t wait for next week.

I'm gonna need them to pick up another show to stay subscribed. With GoT ending and their less -than-enthusiastic Naruto reactions, I can't see myself subbing unless they add another quality show that I want to follow. It's too bad none of them will ever read the Naruto manga, it basically removes all the issues that they have with the anime (besides Sakura's character). It's much better than watching the anime, to me. Anime was still advancing during this era, you don't get a Demon Slayer, Black Clover, JJK without the big 3 back in the day. Although, the Naruto Shippuden anime gets so much better after episode 55

I remember hating her in OG Naruto right up until the Chunin exams when she took on those 3 sound ninja. I had respect for the character after that and it's the moment I realized Kishimoto just didn't care enough about putting effort into writing her character. When he does focus on Sakura she has some pretty badass moments, but he's almost as bad as Kakashi with favoritism and it shows through how much he neglected Sakura's arc.

I think one of the most obnoxious things about new Naruto reactors is the excessive almost forced Sakura hate! This narrative is literally 2 decades old and EXTREMELY worn out & tired. I mean to play devils advocate, try to see it like this. Sakura in the beginning of OG had no insane Chakra or 9 tails like Naruto, and no sensei or family jutsu like Sasuke, Choji, Ino etc… So in og it’s a bit strange to expect her to be on the same level… Naruto in Og only won 1 fight without the ninetails and that was vs Kiba. Also, about 2-3 months pass in OG, and 2 and half years in the time skip. She would’ve had WAY more time to improve in those 2 years than 2-3 months with no sensei. I don't love Sakura either but for different reasons.

it’s kind of criminal how slow this is, i totally forgot how boring things get at times 😵and also shippuden suffers from some of the laziest animation as it goes on, punctuated occasionally by some all time classic fight choreos

It’s just the pacing for me I don’t hate the arc but it could’ve been better, I don’t think pacing is as much of an issue going forward outside maybe the next arc too
