Seeing Ulrich is what triggers him being coherent enough to properly act on it and travel back to 1986. Prior to that he just wandered into the school in ep1 saying "It will happen again" Then wandered aimlessly trying to find the way to the cave on the night Elizabeth was temporarily missing.

The proportion is so heavily skewed towards anime that LA almost feels like a side gig sometimes. I am exclusively subscribed to the early access LA tier and although I love the reactions, to be honest I don't really think it has been really satisfactory. The drops are not only sporadic but seldom too. And this week there has only been a solitary upload on this side while you guys not only drop multiple reactions for anime shows but you keep on adding more of them too. I guess there are 5 anime shows running concurrently now to one over here and this is very disproportionate and actually unfair. Please, please try to strike some balance between both. I request you. I hope you guys understand where I am coming from.

Ulrich sees the coin and the book in 2019 + hears Helge say "I can change it, the past and the future." He then goes to 1953, says that line to Helge, and shows him the coin and the book. They both showed those items to each other + said the line to each other.

He watches old Helga time travel, that would be enough evidence for anyone. He is a desparate man trying to save his son. Any real father would do anything to try and save their own son, no matter the cost. It doesn't mean his actions were good, but they were definitely justified IMO.

The example here for the reveal about the future is how theres only a few small hints that we would get to see the future such as the future tech torch that Jonas received. At first glance you could just write off the torch as just being advanced tech but not actually from the future but "hindsight merchants" who have the context and knowledge of this final episode probably told the geks in a previous episode's comment section that the torch is from the future and so slightly spoiled the reveal that we will get to see the future in the show

I thought that's how all IMDb rates worked? Good observations & discussion, I do recall s2 being epic even if I don't remember it all atm, but I think that's the point, you're not supposed to remember everything in shows like this, because it's so complex and that's where the rewatchability thrives. I'm literally watching getting just as excited about plot twists and reveals as the first time, those are my fav kinna shows. The ones you remember as epic but can't recall every detail except while watching it.

I absolutely agree that he’s a terrible person, it’s just that you can see why in his state of mind he thought he was doing something good. At the end of the day it’s a sign of him being a well-written villain in the show since he’s one who wholeheartedly believes that he’s justified in his evil acts. Considering their ways of watching shows, not paying attention to half of the dialogues and bambling nonsense throughout the episode, I'm pretty sure they're gonna get lost by 3x1 and not enjoy the rest that much. That's a season you REALLY need to pay close attention to follow without getting lost.

I thought it was fkd up for him to beat Helge almost to death, yes, but I couldn’t honestly dislike him for it. My logic in that was that If I meet the person whom I believed murdered my kid and other kids at that, I would probably contemplate resorting to killing him before he did it as well. Since he’s a kid though, I would opt to look out for him to make sure it doesn’t happen, but I can’t say I don’t understand why someone would choose to kill him instead. Also the scene where Helge and Noah kidnap Jonas and throw him in the room where the other kids were essentially tortured (burnt eyes and eardrums) and thrown in a different timeline to be found was for me a confirmation that Ulrich was right in believing Helge was the culprit. Only it wouldn't prevent the future where his brother and the other kid died since Noah is still in action.

Egon quotes the same lyric to Ulrich during that scene. Ulrich hate Egon and like to messing with him but its dumb to quote that in 53' when you are suspected of being a crazed psycho child killer. Also fun fact, the lyrics appear at the 33-second mark of the original song.

No cuz people don't work like that lol, there is no "destiny" towards evil doing, he was inclined, but a lot of fears and beliefs are what drove him. Many atrocities, if not in impact, at least approach that level of cruelty. But I also think this show in particular makes it clear that 'free will' in itself, is a muddled concept.

Ulrich doesn't have enough evidence and doesn't even know for certain if he can impact events, he's just making assumptions. I would've gone for the conversation approach, which Ulrich kinda skipped right over lmao. I don't think I could bring myself to do what Ulrich did, even if the kid was literally Hitler or something lol.
