Sorry if this has already posted, I didn’t want to read 500 posts to find out. lol. Kit Harrington, is the actor who plays Jon. He was injured while filming the dragon riding scene. They use his stunt double for a lot of his scenes when they can substitute it from this point forward. Sadly, he was also battling alcohol addiction and went straight to rehab afterwards. He has talked about it in many interviews years after the show ended and uses what he went through to help other people. It would be really cool if you guys did a couple posts after the show ends reacting to some of the fun GOT videos that came out. There are some really funny ones. Most reactors do a follow up post after the last episode. Once you have a few days to think about the whole series it would be great to hear your thoughts. Also, HBO has inside the episode shows where they describe the special effects and the actors talk more about the things their characters did. If you guys wanted to extend the GOT experience for us into a few more posts you could do the highlight episodes or your favorite episodes and react to how they made each one maybe Hardhome and a few others. I loved this reaction. It was so good. ❤️

Negatives: Tyrion starts off the season with a cock joke which unfortunately is just a prelude of the shitstorm that’s to come Bran and Jon’s reunion is predictably boring and bad, didn’t expect much from this considering brans personality but the cringe factor is extreme. For some reason Jon decides not to question this behaviour as strange and just goes straight to introducing Dany to everyone. Bran saying “we don’t have time for all this” is basically dumb and dumber talking about the show not having time to do anything other than getting straight into the plot, no room for character development or amazing dialogue anymore. Jon and Dany hardly flinch when bran tells them about her dragon having been turned into a white walker and Dany goes back to being completely normal after hearing this (should be) devastating news. Why do people seem to just accept the fact that bran is no longer a normal human and he has powers, they don’t question this at all and just accept it because “we don’t have time for this”. Dumb and dumber use Lyanna Mormont as their mouthpiece to condemn Jon for his actions rather than another northern lord, again Lyanna Mormont proves to be a cringe character trying to act tough. When Sansa brings up the question of what dragons eat, Dany unnecessarily threatens Sansa by saying that dragons eat whatever they want and then looking at her. This is clearly setting up conflict between the two and it’s just forced and awful. Jon and Aryas reunion is terrible, she asks him how he survived a dagger in the heart and he responds he didn’t and then Arya just runs at him… what the hell is this. Why doesn’t she question him more (“we don’t have time for this”). All they do is show each other their swords and while I have no problem with that as a general moment between them, that’s all they do before turning the subject to Sansa. Next Arya says that Sansa “is the smartest person I’ve ever met”……. Wowwww, just wow. Arya has met characters like, Tyrion, Tywin, jaqen, the hound, littlefinger and Varys and yet she considers Sansa the smartest person she’s ever met… wtf is this nonsense. Then the scene ends with Arya telling Jon not to forget who his family is…. This is clearly some setup for some peak writing to come later. Euron tells yara that he has a crew full of mutes so basically soldiers that can’t speak because he cut their tongues out… REMEMBER THAT for later. Next euron complains that Cersei is putting out and then when she walks away she looks at him angrily which euron somehow interprets as an invitation to sex…. What the hell is this writing, now we are doing facial interpretations to write scenes rather than dialogue. Bronn is hanging out with some whores when they start talking about soldiers that the dragon burned alive… one of the girls mentions a soldier called Eddie and another girls identifies him as a ginger… is this a reference to ed Sheeran? I swear to god bro, making me remember that crap. The fact that bronn is considering killing Jaime and Tyrion is just so bad for his character, he has nothing to do this season so they force him into a role that makes no sense, get a different soldier to do it. Why is Cersei drinking when the season 7 finale made it clear that she is pregnant? Somehow Theon manages to save yara with absolutely no difficulty whatsoever, he simply gets his team to kill like 5 of eurons soldiers and Theon waltzes in no problem and saves her. Why are their not more soldiers guarding the ships and yara considering her value as a prisoner. They then manage to sail away without any fear of being captured. This is a very clear example of the writers not being bothered to have a rescue mission storyline (we don’t have time for this) Yara then mentions that they can go back to the iron islands but Theon wants to go to winterfell which is great but yara forgets that she pledged herself to Dany, why is she not going to winterfell as well with some of Theon’s men to fight alongside them. I guess the writers either forgot or they just couldn’t be bothered having her in this season. The Dothraki tell Dany that the dragons are barely eating which in my mind would signify that they are feeling unwell or weak, and yet somehow they are able to fly Jon and Dany around winterfell no problem and the fact they aren’t eating is never brought up again. This is clearly a poor writing contrivance to get Jon and Dany to the dragons so they can have their Epic flying moment and yet the whole scene of their dialogue is cringe (keep your queen warm) reminds me of anakins sand dialogue 🤮. Next Arya reunites with the hound and gendry. The reunions for both feel extremely underwhelming. The hound walks off for some reason after saying a few words to her and gendry mixes in both awkwardness and flirtation to Arya which is jarring, telling her she looks good awkwardly and then immediately teasing her for being a rich girl. Arya then asks for a weapon and that’s the entire reunion. Sam sees bran outside in the dark and bran says he’s waiting for an old friend… why doesn’t bran go inside and stay warm or get some sleep instead of waiting outside all night for Jaime since he knows he won’t get there until the morning. Sam and Jon reunion is fine at the start but Sam immediately goes to the topic of Dany killing her father (we don’t have time for this). He then asks Jon would he have done it which is clearly more setup for the characters to dislike Dany for things that all the characters have done. I don’t like Dany as a character but I hate the setup even more because it’s so forced. Jon then says that he bent the knee and is not king in the north anymore…. Just because he bent the knee to who he believes the ruler of the seven kingdoms should be doesn’t mean he’s not king in the north. Ned, rob and Jon were kings in the north under Robert, Joffrey and Cersei as kings/queens, why should this be any different? Then Jon says “Daenerys is our queen” and as all of us know this won’t be the last time we hear this awful dialogue from Jon. Overall the whole reveal was a little rushed and lazily written and didn’t have the emotional impact it should have had considering the 8 seasons of build up. How did tormund survive? The wall portion that he was on was completely destroyed, even if he didn’t die how did he get down considering that the stairs are so windy and most likely would have been destroyed. Overall this episode was very flat and poor and had none of the emotional weight it should have had. We all talk about how bad season 8 is and while this episode is poor the worst is yet to come.

It depends on the degree of resection. A whole tongue resection is uncommon. And even lot of tongue resections still leave some tongue body to create some difference vowel height/frontness. There was no need to make it a torturous and painful death, it should've been quick and clean, the way Jon handled the execution of Lord Slynt and the way Robb handled the execution of Lord Karstark - beheading, and doing it themselves.

For me its the fact that she burned them alive, instead of giving them a quick clean death. When Janos Slynt defied Jon's order at the Wall Jon beheaded him, a quick clean death, not moments of torture before death. I could respect Daenerys' decision to kill them if she had them beheaded or something, but burning alive I can't respect. And while I am well aware that Daenerys isn't a swordsman, I have more respect for those who carry out the execution themselves. "The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword" - Ned Stark (and we see Jon and Robb carry this out)

@jason literally I would've shut her down immediately too, she doesn't need to be snarky about it to Dany in front of the lords to make them dislike her more. When she isn't the one that invited people over without taking that into account or communicated it to his sister who was in charge of rations and food with enough ahead time. He did send a raven, but he went MIA for weeks, and she had asked the lords to stack the food in Winterfell way before that. Sansa is so stuck on the mad King burning her ancestors and judging Dany for it, when she literally doesn't know her, creating this unnecessary tension. I find it extremely stupid.

@Bellamy Blake How is Dany responsible for Jon's actions? Why is she the one being frowned upon over a decision he made? Being distrusting is understandable acting a weird way towards her is not, they could at least be polite towards her and not give her nasty looks and comments, she has sacrificed something to save Jon (Viserion), her moving her entire army to the north weakens her position even more, it is a long ride, and she is bound to lose a big portion of her army maybe even larger compared to the northerns she gains by helping, it's not about having a power trip its about not being stubborn and disrespectful when there's no need to be.

I am no Dany Stan, but Jon doesn't have anything significant backing his claim at this point. Dany has 2 large armies, another in reserve, 2 dragons, alliances with Dorne and an Iron Island fleet. Jon has unloyal squabbling Northern lords, and a few wildlings. Jon's claim to the throne died when the Targaryeans were deposed. Dany is trying to conquer the throne like Aegon I and Robert did.

I did like the fact that Euron mentioned that his crew is made up of mutes during his conversation with Yara. This is a detail from the books that I don’t think was ever emphasized in the show before. But book Euron cuts out the tongues of his crew so they can’t spread info about what he gets up to on his voyages. I do think that in the episode where his crew attacked Yara & Theon’s ship they made a point of having none of his crew speak. But other than that, I don’t think this had been mentioned previously anywhere in the television show. Book Euron is wildly different from how he is portrayed in the show. He has been set up to be one of the primary human villains for a lot of the final drama in the books. He practices lots of different types of magic. And it is a theory that he is a failed student of the Three Eyed Raven. I’m not sure whether that will be proven or not. But there are quite a few lines of dialogue that support this idea.

The opening scene with the little boy running to see the army was very reminiscent of the scene with young Bran when King Robert came to Winterfell in season one, including the same Baratheon theme music. I liked how they had Arya step aside to make room for the little boy to get through the crowd. But then you had all the awkward introductions and reunions in the courtyard of Winterfell. So many awkward moments & conversations in this episode!

I think it took her so long to stand on her own and make her own decisions, but once she started doing that all of a sudden she’s a problem. The show TELLS you it is because they wanna go by some stupid narrative that going to fight the white walkers first and Cersei after makes the most sense which is just stupid. They mentioned many times that it would be easy to just fly to the Red Keep, roast Cersei, take over, and then command all the armies at King's Landing to march to the North to fight the Night King. THAT would've been the most logical. But the show says NoOo~ her burning the Red Keep or causing any casualties in King's Landing would be the greatest evil of all time and we need Dany to be a saint or something for some reason (even though there is no scenario realistically where you have 0 casualties when taking over a region) so they have to go get the white walkers first.

They hadn't really read all of the books or remembered everything from them, they probably didn't consult anyone about casting and writing for Euron. She’s more than a targ. She’s the ptwp(one of them i think personally - shoutout Jon). There’s been plenty of targs with dragon eggs that did not do what Dany did. No targ has done even close to as much for themselves or started as low as her. Yes she doesn’t become a queen without the dragons but the dragons don’t exist without her. She is the dragons and the dragons are her. Its kinda like telling the best knight he only got there cuz of his sword, the blacksmith for creating his sword, or his mentor for teaching him. And he owes the credit to them more than himself. When do you begin to credit the knight? Surely they get more then 5% Dany in this case is the knight, reforged her sword herself (mother of dragons), and was her own mentor. Crediting the sword (dragons) and the ancient blacksmith that came up with the technique for sword crafting(original targ dragon lords her blood is from and rode drags before) with pretty much all the credit doesn’t feel right. Especially since no other targ could even do what she did(cuz she’s more then just a targ) She also got those stone eggs as a gift after being sold into marriage by her own brother(the only targ she actually knew) to pretty much me a breeding slave. Also that’s around where she shows she’s strong, smart, and caring before even being the “mother of dragons”. Remember Khaleesi?

This season has problems, but why do they still think that you need Targaryen blood to ride a dragon? Dragons have been thought to be extinct for over a hundred years, and most/all of the ones alive towards the end of their era were super small. It makes sense that Dany wouldn't know much about dragons as her family hadn't had them for many generations.

McKay! We are counting on you to get the lighting right for 8x3. I don’t want to hear an hour of what is happening? I can’t see! It’s too dark! You know what needs to be done for that episode. Carter use the scene with Tormund in this episode as a template to adjust the settings if McKay can’t help with it. You should be able to see the people, the ceiling and the walls with Tormund. . 8x3 is meant to be somewhat dark but not so dark you miss half the show because you can’t see it. HBO has lightened it some but not enough. I have seen other reactors be completely lost about what is happening due to bad lighting.

I do believe that if the last two seasons of Game Of Throne especially season 8 were given the time to be rightfully prepared and written it would have been THE best show of all time ! My favorite character is Daenerys and even if she has those moments where you can say that she is presumptuous or whatever remember that she was born and raised far away from her home, didn't have any family next to her but her brother (that's also why she doesn't know a lot about dagons and the Targaryens, because everything she knows is from her brother and he was also very young so he probably didn't know much either) and she pratically has everything not because of her family name but because she worked for it. Also remember that she brought back the Targaryen dynasty by HERSELF with her dragons and that in itself is pretty remarkable. In a way i'm sad that the show didn't portray that sensitive side of her that we barely saw in season 1, maybe if they did the opinion on Daenerys would be different since they would be able to undestand her better (maybe they should've added some flashbacks from her childhood or something), I'm probably biased but I think Daenerys is THE face of the show and that without her the show would be MUCH more boring. Anyway I still think that GOT is a great show still in my top 5 but it could have been easily n° 1 if it wasn't for season 8. One thing we can all agree on is that D&D SUCK !!!

I do agree it is an odd time for them to tell Jon, but I guess he had to know at some point. I like how Jon and Daenerys's arriving to Winterfill is a throwback to when Robert arrived in season 1. Viserion is actually the dragon that died. Rhaegal is the one Jon is riding. Interesting fact: apparently Kit Harrington was in pain during the dragon riding scene because he got his private area stuck in the machine they use for the scene. Show Jon: I never wanted a crown Book Jon: Fantasizing about stealing Robb's inheritance and having dreams of beheading him. Umm Ned was Warden/Lord of the North. Ned bending the knee to Robert Baratheon is really different from bending the knee to a Tagraryen. I don't think is hard to understand why the North isn't on board when the Mad King killed Ned's father and older brother, Brandon. And the North still thinks Lyanna was kidnapped and killed by Rhaegar. Actually, Jon not talking to Sansa, Bran and Arya before bending the knee to a Targaryen was kind of craaaaazy
