In the USA, just leaving the gold standard behind was so stressful for society it lead to one of the first conspiracy theory eras. How much worse would it be with a global media lacking professional standards, brand new quest based banking and cash transfers, and skill vs skill. I'm sorta glad a high level fate power found the opportunity in the zeitgeist and kind of back-doored everything, TBH.
