It’s partially explained by how much trouble they run into by being around the inn, but I think things would make more sense if earthers have a kind of multiplier field that effects everyone around them and the closer they are to them the stronger the effect . With the earthers themselves having like a 50X multiplier…

It's supposed to be longer than an Earth year, and at one point Pirate suggested it might have been equal to 3 earth years. Which would make Mrsha 18 and Nannette middle aged.

I fully expected a "Doors and corners" sentence/reference to pop up.
