This is possibly the best chapter of the entirety of the Wandering Inn. A beautifully somber and sometimes sweet chapter, after a few of Not-Erin being so cold and calculated, reading the real Erin and how she is dealing with the Solstice/Bloodtear is such a relief. I think Ulvama might finally be Erin's actual best friend as well, for all she's had plenty, no one, not even her family has ever gotten her as much as Ulvama has, and vice versa as well. Ulvama has been abandoned and used a lot over the course of the story, so someone who would literally sell her soul to save her has left a mark. Also, as a sufferer, how SI is delt with is hard to read but necessary, thank you for that.

Pigments aren't actually colors; they just absorb certain light so that only the light that doesn't get absorbed gets reflected. If all colors are absorbed, you get black. White is the combination of all light. Red Green Blue light together make up white light. Space is black. If you remove all the color itself from something, I suppose it's black.

This reminded me of another tearful moment for her, with her skeleton when they fought after the creler attack. Not an expert on this but wanna share n learn: If she removed all the color from the rock shouldn’t it be white not black? Black is the combination of all color while white is the absent of it. She’s really depressed! She tried to jump off a branch. Both of them are looking at each other and saying “I need to protect her at all costs n bring her home” and I’m sure the statues are looking at both of them n thinking the same thing.
