The new Audio book is so far great! been listening to it all day. And even the parts that I wasn't to excited about "Larken story" felt so diffrent and great just like I hoped it would :) Not sure why Audible europe didn't have any info about it and suddenly you could order it...

I just got to chapter 4 in the new audio book. The first chapter with Erin in it. The moment I hear Erin's voice it hits me like a brick to the head. I MISS ERIN SO MUCH. I need a Erin chapter soon. As for what it will do... rampage across the countryside? Go on a hunt for the Horns? Reach Az'Kerash and offer its services in exchange for the help in locating the Horns? Lots of possibilities for pirateAba to pick from :)

I've looked on the wiki and can't seem to find it, but can anyone giver me a rundown on skill colors/ranks? I generally know red is "bad" and green is "uncommon" but is that all? Are the gold ones only related to divine?

We don't know a lot of exact levels. We know Ksmvr is at least 21, we know Yvlon was 32, we know Pisces was a level 20 [Mage]. I don't think everyone got XP at the same rate. I think Ceria was actually a higher level than Yvlon before this fight. I also think Pisces leveled like a boss considering the outside impact he had on the battle.

As for the lack of major deaths, I honestly think it was fine. I didn't feel like any major deaths would have felt right at any point in that. There wasn't enough of the right kind of situational build up. For people complaining, this chapter was composed far better than parts of the final chapter of the cure delivery runners / assassins guild arc. /shrug

What level was everyone before this fight? I enjoyed this chapter a lot, but if everyone only leveled like 1 or 2 levels that's a little weird. Considering how ridiculously intense this fight was and how many high level monsters were killed. I was 100% not expecting a teleport out, that was an awesome twist. I also love that the prize they were going after ended up just walking out and handing itself over.

I've seen more than a few creations end not because of a block, or lack of interest, but because the writer/artist drove themself into the dirt. We'll still be here.

Ivolethe breached the vault in Terandria with Ryoka, seeking the one treasure that could restore Erin. They were interrupted before they could snatch the item and then all the magical protections of the vault became active once more as they fled. EDIT: There is one thing, however, that I am not quite clear on. How was Duke Rhisveri able to pinpoint Ryoka’s location using only her westernised name? From book 2 (chapters 2.45 and 2.46), we learn that Teriarch could not scry on her because 'Ryoka' is only a translation. Seems odd that the Duke could so easily bypass the problem that had left Teriarch stumped for so long...

The poorest part to me was the convenient "hey, I'm the strongest revenant and I'm now free, here let me kill everything"

At a certain point, this chapter crossed the line, going from pure epic to having aspects of, well, jumping the shark. I can't pin it on any one, single thing. Too many convenient things happened in a row at the end of the raid for the protagonists, I guess. A raid this poorly planned and executed on an upper Named-rank death zone of this calber had no business having so few character deaths. No characters ended up dying who weren't introduced in this arc or who are so minor that I still couldn't remember their names. I was actually excited for a bit when Seborn looked dead, but... nope. And since when do teleportation spells even *work* like that, a tunnel or something that people perceive travelling through and can take actions in? The best, 10/10 part of this chapter was the reveal of the Putrid One and his slayer, the greater undead, and his last servant. Unfortunately, it went a little downhill from there. The Horns in Chandrar just kinda feels like random stuff happening for the sake of being random. Unpredictability, perhaps being put on too high a pedestal. There has to be a more elegant way of getting Pisces in contact with Fetohep than this, which is no doubt the primary purpose of this development anyways.

Absolutely not a fan of this chapter. 2nd half felt like it was jumping the shark. Slaver showing up at the end feels forced to make us want to see a Roshal arc.

I wish to add that in the previous chapter, you left a comment saying you weren't entirely sure about its quality. The chapter was amazing as always Aba! That's your writing style, setting up incredible action scenes from multiple viewpoints and adding layer after layer. It differs not from previous chapters. I think that because you've been writing for so long now that even on an off-day, your skill as a writer remains excellent. As always.
