I really loved this chapter. I hope we get another chapter about them. Really great group to add to the story that isn't just fighters.

2019-12-16 02:17:37 +0000 UTCWell a romantic subplot wouldn't mess with Jasi's wants since her problem seems to be romance being a primary motivating factor rather than any inclusion of romance.

2019-12-15 19:36:12 +0000 UTCThe problem isn't just the casting, it also has to be good and something you can adapt for the stage in a fantasy world. And let's not forget, Erin left Earth in 2016, so anything after is something she has no knowledge about. And on top of that, it needs to be something she has seen completely or even her [Perfect Recall] won't be of much help. You'd struggle to adapt Alien to the stage, especially with it being sci-fi. Same goes for most super hero movies. Lara Croft might work but the movie (with Angelina Jolie) isn't exactly good, if Erin has seen it at all. And while there have been many movies with female leads, there's almost always a romance (sub)plot and not all material would work off Earth. Something like Moana could work but it came out in 2016 and Erin might not have seen it. She definitely didn't see Wonder Woman. Try it yourself, sit down and think about all the stories you've read and movies you've seen... how many had a female lead, without relying on romance or technology or a cultural backdrop you can't replicate? Without using Google? I came up with Kill Bill and Moana, and even that's debatable. In theory you could try to adapt Underworld but... monsters, technology and again, a romance sub plot... So yeah, it's difficult. Not to mention that Erin is in her early twenties and probably hasn't seen all that many movies yet. I can totally understand her not finding anything within those specifications.

2019-12-15 14:09:15 +0000 UTCI think they just haven't come to mind. A part of it could be the fact her mind seems to unconsciously move away from thinking about Earth. Another is just, sometimes you don't remember things until you do.

2019-12-15 04:49:33 +0000 UTCI can't wait for the Players to meet the Witches. That said, I find it weird that Erin can't think of anything for the players that's female-centered. Maybe not in major, classical plays that wouldn't be possible, but if we're converting films to stage, then she should have a fair amount to pull on. Wicked and Mulan just off the top of my head.

2019-12-15 01:17:28 +0000 UTCI adored this chapter so much. Its chapters like this that make me wish Pirateaba was two or three people because I would gladly read a series just on this cast alone.

2019-12-15 01:01:11 +0000 UTCIn your formatting you could drop “the town” because it’s implied at that point. Another way to arrange it would be, “Sovvex was a town of nearly forty thousand in total.”
Donald Smith
2019-12-15 00:55:37 +0000 UTC"The town of Sovvex was nearly forty thousand in total" should probably be "The population of the town of Sovvex was nearly forty thousand in total"
