Or the field of preservation doesn't work if something is stored in a subpar bag of holding

2019-12-22 01:25:50 +0000 UTCGreat point! As others have said, it could be because of the location he keeps them in. However, keep in mind the field of preservation doesn't prevent rats from eating food, so there could be insects inside the bird or other smaller organisms that digest and rot the bird (Lovely thought, I know).

2019-12-09 16:46:26 +0000 UTCWell, we'll see how this turns out. A preservation skill that won't let you cook half the foods on the planet would be more like a curse than a favor. Bird has rotted his prizes in Erin's inn before despite her disgust with that behavior and her skill, perhaps because they belong to Bird and his intentions overrule the skill. The preservation skill may not be based on specific areas, but skills seem pretty flexible by nature in most of the story. I'm not even sure that the moths count as evidence that rotting birds are a mistake since only a day or two passed until they were all cleaned up.

2019-12-07 21:59:29 +0000 UTCYou think incorrectly .She keeps most of her food in the kitchen and pantry, they tested the apple in the main room, the moth bodies were everywhere and being preserved, to name a few instances. I was just putting the comment over here since Pirate is noted to never read the typo comment except a single past a couple hours after the initial post that day, only being read once more after several years when she is packaging it for the e-book version, so since i was two or so days out i was hoping it would get seen here. no such luck.

2019-12-07 20:44:39 +0000 UTCGood point. Skills being what they are though, I imagine an innkeeper's field of preservation would only apply to appropriate areas of the inn where it is useful. or else an innkeeper couldn't brew alcohol, make pickles or cheese, age meats, etcetera. Skills seem to operate in ways that are helpful and to the user's will more often than backfiring. Personally, I'm still trying to figure out how hand to hand master Erin got taken hostage by two mages without martial skills lying KOed on the floor of her inn when she has the danger sense skill a couple of chapters ago, but drama I guess.

2019-12-07 20:32:15 +0000 UTCHow are birds rotting in Bird's room when they have field of preservation? Dunno if that counts as a typo or not.

2019-12-05 00:15:18 +0000 UTCStarting to sweat L chapters. The inn has too many capable people in it but I get the feeling that everything is going to go wrong all at once. Erin kidnapping, door stealing, Lyonette kidnapping, Horns captured... things are building up and it’s in a direction that will cause pitchforks and torches to be raised.

2019-12-04 02:38:40 +0000 UTCThank you for the chapter. It was quite interesting to see the various POVs. I am, however, still hoping for either Beza to be caught when she tries to smuggle a knife to Calruz or for the whole Wistram team's plan to be foiled when they try to steal the door. Trying to play nice after what they did is too little and too late... plus, they are still considering abducting Erin! The fools!
