You gotta realize when Erin is "acting like a ditz" it is exactly that "an act". She is playing the role of the Crazy Human Innkeeper because she has learned that said role is the best way to deal with strict people who don't quite know how to deal with her. The whole spiel about the zombie city was the author using a bit of foreshadowing to explain what was gonna happen next. If she had reacted as a reasonable adult she would have lost her magical door and maybe spent time in a drake dungeon.

I didn't understand how she could be so comfortable in a new city and causing all this trouble. She sorta reminded me of an annoying child. She got arrested in a foreign city and didn't even seem the least bothered by it. I would be freaked out if a bunch of armed soldiers showed up out of nowhere, hurt my friends, and then arrested me, but she didn't even care at all. And I don't understand why she thought it was so unreasonable that they would confiscate the door either. She broke into a WALLED city. Does she think the walls are just there for decoration? Of course they are there partially to make sure dangerous people can't just enter the city. Look I still love the story, I just thought I would give my two cents on this chapter.
