September 2017 - Side Story Poll!
Added 2017-10-24 14:44:56 +0000 UTCYes, I haven't finished Mrsha's side story yet. But I need to get the results in for next month. This time I'm offering...two...options. Because darn it, we need to get these out of the way! Unless it's a trial for you to read?
Anyways, after this I promise I'm opening it up. It'll be a war between Laken, Tom, Geneva, and all kinds of new stories! But after we get done telling a few more stories about the past.

I'm fascinated by the Antinium backstory! When I read backstory, I like it straight, and not necessarily having to guess things or read a lot between the lines. I would also prefer to not have a lot of backstory that is purposefully nebulous about things happening in the present, for example what exactly happened to the Antinium before they migrated catastrophically. If the backstory is explicitly to make me even more curious about something happening in the present, I'd rather read the present and move on with the plot!

2017-10-25 01:47:41 +0000 UTCI'll be honest. As much as I love the Wandering Inn, I've skipped the last Wistram and last Antinium War chapters. Sudden backs stories for characters we already know about that don't change the present are a bit of a chore for me. I'd rather read a few paragraphs of backstory woven into the main timeline than 10,000 words of a prequel all in one go. I read through the first Wistram and it was interesting enough, but very slow. It didn't seem to be going anywhere except for giving us a bit of history on two characters and Pisces necromancy, so I ended up skipping the second one, thinking that was the last. Antinium wars is more like reading a lore book and seemed to lack the humor and character interactions that make the Wandering Inn so great. I've read the other side stories, since they were all part of the current timeline, and involved more character interaction and worked toward the current story. Prequels however have never really been my thing.
