Something that you guys might like to hear is that, in other works by Toriyama (Neko majin z), it’s shown that Goku didn’t actually abandon his family lol. Instead, Uub came to live with him, ChiChi and Goten. He even wears a gi similar to Goten when he was a child. So no, Toriyama didn’t just forget about Goku’s family lol. (This coming from someone who always hated the ending of dbz)
