"Dragon Ball Z" Reaction - Episodes 282 - 285

This is what I hate the most about the Buu Saga... The brilliant idea of the people of Earth finally paying it forward and contributing to their own salvation, squandered to cement humanity as this fickle, selfless, ignorant, credulous throng underserving of it. A people who were so readily fooled by a thin con that they never questioned some stupid wrestler with an afro suddenly defeating a godlike being capable of ending the world. THIS is what Dragonball thinks of humanity... as lambs for the slaughter. This could have been a moment of triumph, of revelation. What if it potentially cost something for them to help, but they still chose to regardless? What if instead of needing their idiot hero to spur them to action, they overcame fear and self-interest to become their own saviors? A stunning show of the power we all can have when we come together as one... Nope. Humanity sucks, and they literally need to be tricked into being batteries for Goku's ultimate move. It's so cynical and bleak that it disgusts me, because as stupid as real people CAN be, I fully believe THIS world would have come through. People, when motivated, when informed, are capable of ASTONISHING selflessness and charity. Empathy is a powerful force, and goodwill comes naturally to people. We are NOT just self-interested simpletons. And you're absolutely right. The idea that characters like the Announcer or King Furry, or Baba's Otherworld fighters would respond to Satan and not Goku is insulting. Such an excellent climax, squandered to double, triple, and quadruple down on the premise of Mister Satan's Cell ploy.

I don't know what's more chaotic. Kid Buu or the Dragon Ball fanbase. What Tat has seen on Discord is only a fraction of their power. Not witness it's full power, as seen in the wilds of the internet! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-ok Imma stop that now. Although it's frustrating seeing the people of Earth acting like, as Goku says in Kai,.......dumbasses......I do love see all of the friends and allys Goku's made over the years contribute just from hearing his voice. Oh and that blue-haired "THAT GUY SOUND'S COOL" trucker lady was Launch btw (who didn't even show up in the manga of this scene because Toriyama forgot about her. Poor gal)
