That phrase from Zoro, talking about a "Frog in a small pond", apparently comes from some proverb in eastern philosophy (Chinese, I think). It refers to only knowing what's around you and being ignorant of the wider world. This phrase was actually said by Mihawk to Zoro way back on their first meeting. And he's just repeating it now.
