I haven't felt such visceral disgust (in an appreciating the storytelling kinda way) from an anime since watching Evangelion. Most anime these days will only go so far as to imply sexual violence, then just have the main character go in and easily kill all the baddies and save the girls and everyone is just happily ever after. I really respect how much they explore the psychological aspect of it here, despite how sickening it's intended to be. Also, the scene of Semiu looking down at the camera from the marauder's POV is uhhh not healthy for me. I think I stopped breathing for like 30 seconds after that the first time I saw it... Best receptionist.
