In TLOU2, there's a convo Dina and Ellie have on Day 1 about their first week in Jackson. Ellie talks about how she ate everything she could see and Dina comments that she knew because she was watching Ellie. Also in TLOU2 when Jesse wakes Ellie up for the patrol and you get your first tour of Jackson, they put the music composer Gustavo in the game. He's the white haired man playing the banjo in the rocking chair. Well in this episode if you pause at 23:52 you'll see a nod to Gustavo a man in the background with a banjo. Other nods to TLOU2 are the kids having snowball fights, and Tommy talking about being able to head shot infected from half a mile away. Ellie asks if he'll teach her. Which is a nod to the moment when Tommy lets Ellie shoot his gun and those infected far off in the distance. Just a ton of TLOU2 references in this episode. Which I suspect they did for the fans because they probably weren't sure if HBO was going to give them the greenlight to do the second game.

In the show he is 56 years old, when Joel was talking to Tommy during the boot scene, he said that "5 years ago I would have destroyed them" referencing the games age where in the game Joel was definitely "destroying" people xD
