In the episode where we met him we can see the memory of their break-up and in it you can hear him say that he sold her teddy bear to a witch. Yeah…. The Infamous “Frost and Fire” episode. Some people say that this is out of character for Finn… but they forget that his tendency to go too far when it comes to his perverted curiosity was already hinted at in the episode “All the Little People” earlier this season. And also…. People who say that kids that are going through puberty don’t do or say messed up things… either they’re disremembering their own past or they didn’t grew up around enough pre-teens/teenagers.
