One of my favorite things about Garnet being a fusion is that it's more of a relationship than other instances in the show this far, and at the time this episode was released, TV networks were super against showing gay relationships. And so Rebecca Sugar (the shows creator) hid the fact that Garnet was a fusion from the network all the way until writing Jail Break so they had no choice but to let it air

It's Garnet explaining to a new Stable Fusion how to remain in harmony like she is. Sometimes I wonder how the series would have been if Steven and Connie never unfused after that point, but still maintained their friendship internally.

2025-11-27 10:22:47 +0000 UTCGarnet being a fusion explain the big smile in the Stevonnie episode, because garnet noticed that stevonnie was a fusion of a relationship between steven and connie, which they like each other even being just kids and dont get that info in them yet but the feelings are there. so thats why she says "you arent one person, you arent 2 persons, you are an experience, go and enjoy it" just like she said in the song with jasper: "But I am even more than the two of them Everything they care about is what I am I am their fury, I am their patience I am a conversation" Garnet isnt just 1+1=2, garnet is an "experience", she is the embodiment of ruby's and zaphire's love Funfact: in some countries that had/has anti lgbtq censorship in tv, they make ruby be "a guy" so they make the couple a "straight couple""... Rebecca sugar (creator of the show) noticed this and hated it since she on purpose made the couple like this and said that "gems dont have genders, they just love each other if they love each other, they jsut happen to look like girls", and later on she took cards in the matter IN THE SHOW in a way they werent able to censor it without having to cut the entire episodes

2025-11-25 15:49:24 +0000 UTCThe best way to think about fusion forms is it's kind of a mixture of how the participants think of each other, in ruby and sapphires case it would be wise, stoic, and strong, for Malachite (which is Jasper and Lapus' fusion) we have an over powered beast of a monster which is how Jasper sees herself and how Lapus also sees Jasper

Oh, it's so good for you to see...the first part of this. Heh heh. Also, I'm not sure if you noticed the subtle changes in the show from episodic adventures to a more linear story, while also tackling a number of different topics in unique ways thanks to this world. I honestly didn't catch it till these last 2 that it had shifted when I first watched this.
