2025-11-13 20:51:41 +0000 UTCYou know, I feel like things are slowly starting to get more and more serious, but that was typical of this, and many other shows like adventure time, because it starts all funny and goofy. So we can like the main characters more and because we like them, when the more serious stuff occurs, we are more engaged with them because we knew them from the start and had a connection with them.

The comic's author, Ian Jones-Quartey, worked on the show and it's a little Easter Egg to him! ...that being said, the Hero WAS a spoof of Cloud so calling him that is still completely valid. I just think it's a neat little bit of trivia - and also was very excited that I - as an RPG World fan - got the joke immediately the first time I saw it. XD

Not to mention those 'ancient gem machines' all over the place being shaped like bacteriophages.
