To the point about merchandising, Sam Wilson wouldn't be making money off of that I don't think. One, even in our world where we merchandise everything, Sam isn't popular enough to have a bunch of toys making a bunch of money. Hell there's a video game out right now with most of the avengers characters and not only do they not have falcon, but there's not a big cry for him to be added either. Two: in MCU, the thing that makes Sam more than just a guy is the wingsuit. The wingsuit is most property of the US Air force. They likely have ALL rights pertaining to it. Sam is also an active duty soldier. Any merchandising including him would likely be taken by the govt because pretty sure they have rights to all soldiers likeness and two anything depicting the wingsuit gets paid to the Air Force. Only money Sam likely has is what Air Force pays him. And I'm pretty sure Sam is pararescue, which I'm pretty sure is enlisted and not officer so he wouldn't be getting paid a whole lot. Not saying the writing doesn't get a little lazy, just that Sam not having a lot of money makes sense. If Clint and Natasha had money problems I'd be upset. But Sam? I can buy Sam Wilson making under 80 grand a year.

Your point about worldbuilding is exactly what’s made me frustrated with entertainment discourse over the past decade. People like us care about the details that form the foundation of a fictional world we are digesting. But when we point out inconsistencies or say something doesn’t make sense, we’re treated like we’re the problem, like we’re nitpicking, just being negative, or just dumb and don't get it. A good example is House of the Dragon, which makes a major and very visible change: the Velaryons are portrayed as Black in the show, whereas they’re white in the book series canon. To preface this, I’m totally fine with the family being Black. Diversity in fantasy is a good thing. But I want the world to reflect that change in a way that makes sense. For instance, in the show’s opening scene, we see Jaehaerys I, who canonically had a Velaryon mother. If the Velaryons are Black, whether that’s due to recent mixing with Summer Islanders (essentially the in-universe origin of Black people in Westeros, and since the Velaryon's are a massive trading family Corlys Velaryon's granddad or something could have married someone important and brought her back to Driftmark), or if they’ve been a Black Valyrian family for generations, shouldn’t Jaehaerys show some of that heritage? He married his sister, so his children, and by extension grandson and great-granddaughter (Viserys and Rhaenyra), should also be mixed-race. But instead, nearly all the Targaryens are portrayed as pale white. Changes like this wouldn’t be a problem if the writers made an effort to explain or integrate them into the world properly. But when they don’t, it feels like they’re not putting in the same level of care and consistency that George R. R. Martin brings to his books or that directors like Denis Villeneuve and Nolan bring to their films. It breaks immersion, and that matters to people who care about storytelling and filmmaking.

What is happy doing if not making sure each avenger got their mechandicing rights and such? I agree it´s a glaring plothole in this serie... Did he not survive the blip or something?

I got patreon just to explain this in the MCU Falcon doesn't own the Alias known as the falcon or his wingsuit those are both government-owned and operated so he doesn't have the rights to make merchandise of himself and he doesn't really get any Kickback from it if the government did decide to make merchandise of it

Who am I

I just looked it up In the marvel comics stark industries usually gives each avenger a salary for their service but most of their money comes from the off merc jobs through the government. it's a bit vague/ uncertain when it comes to the mcu.

"I think have been spoiled by DC stuff" is so funny to me. Marvel was burying the syderverse during this time, but now Gunn is kinda the golden boy.

46:00 - Not all the main superheroes struggle, though I am sure the guys that were dusted for 5 years and came back recently all had some trouble. Hawkeye seemed to be doing just fine iin his show, like not mega-rich, he clearly is uncomfortable with merch of him, but he was fine for money. Spiderman clearly had some money troubles when he was a kid, but since then he inherited a bunch of Stark tech and Happy was taking care of him and May. Dr Strange seem to have no concerns for money, other than like one line Wong mentions about finding cash or something in Infinity War I think they're probably fine, especially post-Endgame he probably became rather famous and he very much has merch made of him and he is savvy enough to take a cut from it. Hulk/Banner are perfectly fine for money as well. It's mainly just the guys that were international criminals - Steve, Sam, Bucky and Natasha - who have money problems, which makes sense because they were literally criminals for years and then dusted for years. It'd make no sense for them to have money after being international fugitives and then gone, plus none of them are money savvy either. The only exception is Ant-Man, he has a book and a podcast and because unlike the others, he cares enough about having money and knows how to get it. He also was under house arrest rather than being fugitives, so it makes more sense for him to be fine. Sam is a goodie two-shoes guy, and Bucky is a massive introvert with trauma, there's no way either of them would ever consider making merch of themselves.

One thing to remember about Clint and his financial situation, he was a shield agent for years so most of his money is probably from that. Also merchandising yeah they don’t make money. That’s why there’s spidey merch lmao

Alex the baller88

To me I took it as they get paid by the government but the original avengers team gets the money from tony so like Steve Natasha Bruce and Clint Hawkeye but everyone else no
