I've had friends who are trans that switch to gender neutral names from their dead name to make it easier and comfy when identifying themselves. So I think some people are just seeing it as that. :) I think a lot of people are just trying to be respectful of pronouns and the character so checking to see if they are trans is imporant to the community.

2025-09-23 07:11:27 +0000 UTCWhile I'm not writing off the idea that this show will possibly have a trans character, I feel like the people jumping to Frankie as one are perpetuating the idea that if a female character isn't a certain way they must be trans, any tomboy. Frankie is a neutral name that many female characters has had, Fosters Home on CN for example. (Edit) The shows creator confirmed that Frankie is Cis and now some people are calling her transphobic, somehow.

One half recognizing how awful Disney is and that she worked for a company that's horrible, but also she was just another cog in the content machine. The other half meanwhile says that yeah making The Owl House gave plenty of people a magical moment to remember that is cool and it meant something. The dichotomy of doing good while working for someone or something evil.
