hmmm. you should watch the netflix show! I don't really like the movie but I like the show because they faithfully adapt all the books. It's very absurdist (so a bit similar to one piece in that way) and has a ton of literary allusions, wordplay, etc. it's really funny. and the important questions are actually answered in the tv show.
