Trigun Episodes 25 and 26

Also, you might run into this a lot in anime, but in Japanese there’s really no “L” sound, or it’s counted as an “R” sound or something like that, so you’ll often find different translations of names from different sources, because it’s essentially up to the translator as to which one to use. For example, I’ve seen Levi from AoT translated as “Rivai” instead, and also in AoT, Sasha’s last name is sometimes shown as being “Braus” (I think this is the more common one) and sometimes “Blaus.” And when they’re learning/translating to English, they’ll often confuse/interchange those letters as well- I heard from a professor that back after WWII, a sign or banner had been made in support of General MacArthur in his run for presidency, and the sign was supposed to read “We Pray for MacArthur’s Election” but instead the r in pray was written with an l and the l in election was written with an r lmfao

I looked into the manga ending and apparently Vash convinces Knives and so he (Knives) sacrifices his life for humanity. I don't know the details but I actually like that ending better in theory. This anime ending felt a little rushed

That makes more sense

Yeah during editing I revisited that scene where he looks up the relative and finds out one of the scientists was experimenting with the plants and came up with something cool. So I looked further into it and discovered what you said about these two being plants. It all tracks

I’ve never looked into the manga, and it was only in recent years and really delving in to anime that I realized that “filler” vs “canon” is a thing, but apparently 17 of these episodes are filler, with 4 being entirely canon and the other 5 a canon/filler mix- I’m not sure if the new one is more true to the manga or not, but from what I’ve read, the fandom as well as the manga author count this whole series as canon now. I’m not sure how the manga ends, but none of the last 8 episodes are canon, so whoever was adapting I would guess just ran with their own idea of how it should go, and looking it up now, it seems like the manga wasn’t finished when this was created

So Vash and Knives aren’t human, they’re plants like the ones used to sustain and support life on the planet- I can see Knives’ point about their “siblings” being used by humans, and he can look down on humans because he believes himself (and Vash and other plants) to be a superior being- he never wanted to kill Vash, just annihilate humans, while Vash has wanted to coexist and promote peace and the lofty ideals he learned from Rem.

Ariel

Now if you ever do another poll about asshole siblings, you have one more to add lol

I think the mob of people that were attacking Millie and Meryl passed out once Legato’s control was broken- just like the kids from earlier that were forced to taunt him about Wolfwood’s death
