"Countdown" - Songwriting Process
Added 2022-06-08 06:05:24 +0000 UTCWhenever I have to write a song, I tend to just spackle some nonsense into a microphone until I accidentally stumble on something that sounds good. This time I happened to record it, so here's an audio file where you can hear Countdown slowly coming together!

Yeah that's 100% how I write songs. I can't compose melodies so I have to work entirely on lyric patterns and then hand off what I come up with to a composer.

I gather your song writing process is basically "throw stuff at a wall until something, no matter how small, sticks, and then build around that", which definitely inspires me to try similar tactics when getting creators-block myself. It's a tactic I've heard before, but being able to see it in action really makes a difference for understanding it. Thanks.
